Due to the pandemic I have dry milk and dry cream on hand, along with the usual flour, yeast, sugar, salt, and veg oil.
My baking doesn't usually turn out all that well, but today I did a no kneading cream bread that turned out perfectly.
I mixed it up last night, then set the bowl in a pan of warm water and covered it.
This morning I put the risen soft dough directly in my dutch oven (in my electric oven) on top of a layer of polenta I put in there to keep stuff from sticking, and gave it 35 minutes or so.
It's an incredible, tender treat with a slight hint of sourdough flavor in a brioche like texture. It's also very filling, likely because of the oil and cream content.
