Is anyone else wide awake at 04.30. Unfortunately it is a pattern now I don't seem able to break. So time to make a cuppa I guess!
Seem to be feeling rough on a daily basis, at the moment which has to be partly due to lock down. How are others keeping their spirits up? Thought there would be lots of comments on last night's interview with Harry and Meghan, but it looks like everyone is fed up with it. Not a peep.
Waiting for Don's music this morning to cheer me up!Hope you are all staying safe.

I'm in the states so it's only midnight for me right now, but I have been up most nights pretty late for the last year. Sometimes I think it's not so bad but my fitbit shows me my average sleep time is usually after 2 and some nights it's been after 4 too. It's been such a bad cycle trying to get up in the morning to work from home after not sleeping well so I feel your pain.
What keeps you up at night? Are you up doing things or in bed tossing and turning?
Made 5 am today, but woke at 4.30! Usual practice now, I think it is because my late husband went off to work at this time and I made breakfast, and now am achy and cranky so better to get up and move around. First coffee is the best!
Good morning shell sops indiegal and whoever reads 😊yes pretty regular pattern depends on pixie and how tired we are he varies a bit and with clocks going forward this will alter his sleep he will be out longer summer nights so I'm hoping I'll get more sleep, used to be about 3 he'd wake I'd give 4 biscuits his little ones not my digestive lol 😁then he'd snuggle back to sleep it was 5.3o this morning then out bathroom window still dark but could see it changing he got in about 6 and he wouldn't settle I used to lock him.in kitchen at mam's I've not resorted to that since moved back to my house,as for keeping spirits up get out when can walk in park take photos, keep busy in garden, mam started sorting stuff out and getting rid of things don't need,I sold few things on face book marketplace, winters always a bit grim no sunlight effects moods energy, I have a luma lamp only used few times I try to sit in sun in window always cheers me up. Come on here passes most of the time but not good for my eyes and stops me getting things done makes me lazy, summer will be different for most of us I know some still won't be able to get out. I'm getting electric bike and we will have days out I got one last year but it went back faulty breaks I'll go to a bike shop this time, hope you enjoy dons music and have a nice day 😊😺🌻xx. Here's the elec bike managed not to go in lake lol 😁if you enlarge it it's lovely tree
It is a lovely tree! I bought my husband an electric bike so he could go to oncology, but he couldn’t manage it and after he died i went a bit frantic and sold loads of things that I now bitterly regret. One was the bike. I also sold his sports car which i could have driven, things we do when low.... it’s good to hear from you, hope you get another bike, we can have virtual rides, i still have my 1954 pedal bike,
Hi my mam.has a indoor exercise bike she puts it in front of window as there's view of park and pretends she's outdoors lol, yes regrets when my dad died last year me and sister ponderred what to do with his house sell it rent it do it up make a bit but each other out, we had same conclusion get rid while can had offer of a cash buyer he was first time renter wanting investment we was happy with the price and die to the flood risks and pandemic and I needed money for my next house or so I thought now I'm back home my house wouldn't sell and lost my job so having to dip into the inheritance to live should have rented it maby xx
I did the same with my mums house, and regretted selling it later.its hard at the time to always make the right decision.like the idea of pedalling with a view, good on your mam!
I know it will be hard decision on mam's house the plan is I'll move there buy my sister out but it's big and needs work I'd have potential to let a room off self contained tho but maby it be horrible with mam not there she said it would be a comfort to me I'm not sure and it would be sad stripping her choice of wall paper off I know she'd be watching over me tho and want me to be happy it was hard getting rid of my dad's stuff like throwing him in the bin his life I sold his bikes so there living on I'm just getting ready to do my garden hope you have a nice day 😊🌞🌻xx
Love it Done. Bit foggy on the date, but remember doing all the moves - or at least trying to, back in the day! Thank you for giving me a smile and an upbeat start to the day!
We were playing discs on DH's player yesterday and 'Speedy Gonzales' came on. I hadn't been able to get it out of my head. I will now! Rivers of Babylon it is !!!
My pleasure. That came out the year before I was born😳 but I grew up listening to my mum playing music like that and I love it. Another favourite of mine is ' Love is a Many Splendoured Thing ' by the Four Aces.
Thanks Jerry. You are right . My mind starts racing all over the place, and won't switch off. Then after I finally do drop off, I wake in the night, and have to get up due to the pain. So up I get. Cuppa first, then hot water bottle and then cabin up on the sofa!!! I cam't even remember any more what it was like to get a full night's sleep! This is my new norm. Moan over. Sun is shining this morning here in Yorkshire, so hope to have a pleasant day and wish the same for all of you!
Yes, I know exactly what you mean. Pain keeps many of us awake and then you are exhausted the next day!! Hope you manage some sleep tonight . Love and hugs Lynne xxxx ❤️🤗💜🤗
Oh I was ShelWhitt, but wasn't using HU! Like you it's a bit of a pattern for me to wake very early, either with shoulder pain or just because it's a sleeping pattern which blights the lives of many older people. (I don't know your age and it's none of my business, but I know that's the cause for me). A long while ago I decided not to stress too much about it. I just make tea and read or watch YouTube videos for a while and eventually I drift off again. Fretting about it seems to make it so much worse. But I'll think of you next time my slumbers desert me and wonder if you are drinking tea too!
You are so right, It is fibro, spondylosis, disc generation, and could go on, but I won't! As well as the age thing. I am gradually trying to come terms with it, but it isn't easy as lack of sleep makes everything else so much worse!. I know we are not alone either, we could probably have a chat line in the night!I am kidding!😀😀😀
I find Paul mackenna hypnosis c d good I just kept popping it back on it broke but I'm going to use mam's sleep one the one I used was instant calm and positive thinking his voice just sent me off lol ive stopped coming on here as much as it keeps me awake and is bad for eyes I also pretend I have to be up for work and that makes me tired lol and yes music on y tube or TV music channel chamomile tea lavendar in pillar case xx
Good for you.Whatever works, don't knock it. Hypnosis doesn't work for me. Let's be honest I've tried pretty much everything over the years but haven't found anything that really works. No wonder the doc is at a loss with me. My hot water bottle and ice packs are my best friends.xx
Good morning Don said to me sleep when your tired like if daytime just get a few nods perhaps since I moved back home and when my head pain was bad in winter I resorted to few glasses wine laying down makes my head pain worst thank goodness summers on the way 😊🌞🌻xx
Feel for you Curly. I can't drink booze. Wish I could. The most I ever manage is maybe one glass of spritzer if we are out for a special meal! Take care. xx
Hopefully you’ll sleep well. I’ve been waiting all day for a call from the vets, my little cat isn’t well and needs to go for an assessment. Just waiting to find out when they can fit her in, they are really busy.
They are talking about taking some teeth out, but I have just rung them and she is going in on Thursday morning for an assessment and probably a steroid injection. If she continues to deteriorate (she is only eating about a desert spoonful of food a day) she will go tomorrow evening and have fluids but it means she will have to spend the night there and there are no staff overnight . They can’t take the teeth out for another two weeks as they are fully booked.
Mandy and Lynne, just to let you know that she has perked up today. She asked for some food which I wasn’t expecting, and ate it all. So she will most probably be going in tomorrow morning.Thank you for your concern, it’s much appreciated.🙂😽
Hi Lynne. Hope everything is OK. I've just had a really weird night. Woke up having a nightmare at 1.30 feeling I couldn't breathe. Had to get up it was so scary, I panicked. I haven't had it before. It was like congestion /blockage behind the top of my nose between my eyes I suppose it was my sinuses. I eventually nodded off on the sofa around 5.00 and have just woke up. It is still there but not so bad. Maybe it is an allergy or the start of a cold! Hope you managed some sleep. I'm beginning to think I would be better going to bed in the daytime and staying up at night. Who knows. If |I lived on my own I might be tempted to try it it might work. Stay safe. Sending hugs. 💗😃xx
My mam had similar thing and happend during her recent sinus problem were not exactly sure it may have been a kind of night panic attack she's had one before it was a bit different maby to yours she had a overwhelming feeling she was dying xx
Thanks Curly.l do have sneezing sessions quite often in a morning, so I am thinking possibly allergy/hayfever Anyway it is a lot better now. Still there but looser if you know what I mean. Just something else on the list!xx
