I hope everyone is safe and well

I have found posting on this site to be very helpful

I realise life is what you make of it and the Lock Down with its own form of social isolation and Ramadan has taught me to persevere with life

I bought a journal today I will monitor the up and downs which seem to be triggered by external influences

Keeping a journal is a really good idea, it will help you identify any patterns in your thinking or your mental health and what causes you to feel better or worse. It may also help your ibs if you keep a food diary.

It's a great idea Roukaya. I find it very helpful to keep a journal, especially when you look back at your previous entries. You can usually find patterns in how you were feeling and what caused your mood. Some days will always be better than others and it sounds as if today was a really good one. I'm glad about that! 😊

Journal's are a great idea, I am a big believer in them. They are good for many reasons. I agree with you, that life is what we make of it and if we persevere, well, I think we can make it how we want it to be. Keeping a record in a journal, when looking back in the journal can refresh memories that, might otherwise be forgotten or missed, so you will have a complete picture written down to refer too. I hope your evening is going well and it is pleasant for you. xxx

That's a very positive thing to do to write down your thoughts and how you feel. You may be able to see a trend and then know how to divert your thoughts to a more positive track.

Hi Roukaya ,

Having a journal is a great idea. You can always write your feelings and if you’re stressed about anything that is going on during your day.

I kept a journal/diary when I was in my high school years. Helped me with a few issues back then.😀👍🌈

As the saying goes its not what happens to you in life its how you deal with it and my father would say life was never meant to be fair. I hope having your journal helps you.

Totally agree. I've only been using this site for a short time but it has really helped me. To get thoughtful messages from people i don't even know gives me a lift. I'm sure I'm going to get to know these people a little more over time. Stay safe 🌞

hats off Roukaya doing any fasting. I cannot for health reasons, no diabetes, but some metabolic faster burning up of the food, so eating like a miner, calorific bombs. Many people think the weightloss is hard, the weightgain EVEN YHARDER FOR ME...to achieve.it can get equally frustrating.only OUR SOCIETY SEES THE WEIGHTLOSS as more important. let me tell you IT IS NOT.MINE IS MAINLY LINKED TO MY ATAXIA, SO TECHNICALLY ACCEPTED. why to fight myself? no sense in it...STAY SAFE &SANE!

Hi Roukaya,

Firstly Ramadan Kareem to you. I know how challenging this 30 days of fasting is for you and others as well.

Keep up the journal entries especially throughout this month. I find that it helps me put things in perspective and keeps me focus during these difficult times.

I miss my Iftars as well.

That sounds like an excellent idea; One I really should follow!

I write lists and forget to take them out with me (when I have to go out), so I come back with only half of what I need, but a lot of stuff I don't!

Also, I find I have difficulty starting to write in a new pad or book, because I hate to spoil the cleaness of the book! (I'm weird like that!)

Cheers, Midori
