Because the detail on the silver sheet has been 'fused' no solder has been used, which is a big advantage!
With the edges filed straight, the cylinder is ready to be soldered along its 'seam'....and then acid pickled, to clean up the oxidation that follows. When it emerges from the pickle, the silver will look white. It looks lovely but with friction it polishes up- so sadly this lovely white colour will not last!!
The excess solder now needs to be removed and filed off...

You are a darling! You are too kind.Once I listened to an interview with one of my all time heroes... Robin Williams, sadly missed. He said that in life you had to do "what makes your heart sing". At that particular time I was very ill, in a lot of pain, worked for an huge US corporate, through need and convenience because I had the language skills & was bullied for being ill. In the end I quit but as ill as I was with the support of my family I did something completely different. When asked what my plan B was if it didn't work I replied I didn't have one, because it would work! There are so many people in life happy to pull you down, probably because they've failed themselves. We just have to keep faith in ourselves without being arrogant or stupid, but just keep at it, even if some people say we are bound to fail! Keep the Faith I say!
