This is inspired by Karen Rice's "Love in a Mist" and some nasturtiums that, though it is after the winter solstice here, are hanging on for dear life. How do those last blooms feel? Do they envy the joy of those blooms that came first? Or do they quietly accept their lot?
12" by 9" watercolour with some acrylic ink.

There is a wistfulness about them which says to me that they feel the sadness of later life, but quietly know that the time is coming..... It's a truly beautiful painting.🙏🌺
Love in the mist is a flower I love. You have definitely captured the delicate blue flower with those spiky tendrils. Your work complements the simplicity of mother nature Brent.I hope the pain you suffer daily allows you some respite to enjoy the Christmas period. Wishing you both a much happier and healthier new year.
