A power walk today - First set of photos

โ€ข32 Replies

Hi all

Hope you've all had a good day.

I've been out on a power walk today and when I got home I cut up some carrots, parsnips and a potato for a Cream of Parsnip and Carrot soup. That's 5 portions made for the freezer.

I spotted the daffodils in full blooms in a friend's garden on the way out.

I walked 22,489 steps which equates to 11.26 miles and 891 calories burnt.

I hope you like this first set of photos, more to follow.

Stay safe and well and have a lovely evening/rest of the day.

Thank you Jerry. I didn't even realise the sun was out like it was on the field until I downloaded the photos on to PWB, shows how much notice I take LOL. I was really surprised to see daffodils out in full bloom, who would have thought January for daffs. Oh I do like a good walk and it was lovely albeit slippery in places because of the mud.

Have a good evening Jerry.

Hi Alicia, Apart from the welcome splash of yellow daffodils, each photo has that ffeel of still being Winter (bare trees). Saying that the grass looks quite green. Your choice of landscapes is very picturesque.

in reply to RoadRunner44

I totally agree but apart from the trees there's a lot of colour, I even saw buds on trees today. The grass is very green.

Thank you.

Thank you KoKo. I love soup and would definitely have it every day. I love the ingredients in your soup, funny I don't like celery raw but enjoy it cooked.

You're welcome and life is for living.

Youโ€™re welcomed Alicia. May I suggest adding celeries in your green smoothie with fresh ginger, it gives a kick to your smoothie. I love that combination. Have a good night โค๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ™xxx

in reply to

Thank you and dare I say it I'm not a smoothie kind of woman, I love soup and nice and hot but I will start to look at celery to add into my soups and stews.

Hope you're having a good day.

I love a good cup of hot chocolate and I sweeten it with Stevia so no actual sugar and raw cacao is good for you. Oh most definitely take a photo xxx ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹๐ŸŒˆ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–

Yum, that sounds good! Great set of photos. The contrast if the green and yellow fields is stunning. I'm guessing that's Rapeseed?

in reply to Niao

It's a fabulous soup, I've made it so many times and it's low fodmap.

No it's not rapeseed, I didn't even realise it was yellow until I looked at the photo LOL

Can't believe daffs out already but of course your weather is so mild in comparison to ours!! How uplifting ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘Bulbs here just poking through as bitterly cold in a dank sort of way with loads of drizzle. But at least days are getting longer and spring approaches. Hubby has vaccine on 25th but has to travel 20 miles for the pleasure. There must be so many oldies on their own who can't travel anywhere. 3 weeks ago it was in Leisure Centre locally. Have a good day Alicia...

in reply to diana1998

Believe it or not that's very early for here, the earliest is normally around February, certainly not January. Spring is on it's way for sure and my favourite time of year where the days get longer and longer. Oh my goodness, that's a fair way, I expect they've just opened up more places where they can administer the vaccines but agree that some older people cannot travel the distance. It's a good day he's having it on though as it'll be my youngest daughter's 37th birthday, has to be a good day.

Hope you've had a good day.

Hello crazyfitness

Great! More flowers which remind me that spring is coming and blossoming of new life where we will contain covid. Blessings.

in reply to Big_Dee

Hi Big_Dee

I love seeing the flowers and it so reminds me of Spring as well, the days are already getting longer which is great.

We are definitely going to contain Covid for sure.

Oooh! Daffodils already. You are gonna have an early spring for sure. Leaves are about all off the trees here and itโ€™s still looking like winter. And cold. But spring is coming! Iโ€™m going Monday to get my first Covid vaccine shot. A bit nervous but I think I should do it .

Have a great weekend!๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿค—๐ŸŒˆโค๏ธ๐ŸŒผ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒป

in reply to Williemom

I know it's so early. There are buds on the trees as well which is very early and we have some buds on our Mountain Ash in the garden. The leaves are off the trees here but some did take their time and it's still looking like Winter but I don't think so for very long. It's not as cold now.

Good luck on your vaccine and you are definitely doing the right thing, the results are looking pretty good. Think if you don't have the vaccine and if you get Covid, God forbid, then who knows so a vaccine is the right way to go.

Have a lovely weekend as well.
