Charlie had a weak heart in the end and started coughing because of this! She wasn't very well and kept bumping into things at times! Miss her company and all the lovely walks we went on over the fields and the woods! Best Dog I ever had πŸ’ž

She also had a litter of 7 puppies when she was 3 years old! They were beautiful and my kids enjoyed playing with them! We kept Nancy and Sarah from the litter but there were 2 more girls and 3 strapping boys, one we called Monty, as he had a white chest and paws and a black curly short fur!Ah sadly they will all have died by now! But what an experience we had to see all these puppies being born and suckling happily Charlie's milk! All healthy and well! Imagine 4 children in the house and 7 puppies! At times it was chaos πŸ˜‚πŸ€£ but we loved it 😍😍😍😍

She is beautiful. I'm sorry to hear about your loss. Pets are more than just a pet, they are one of the family and the unconditional love they give us is priceless. I still miss our old collie Prince who passed away back in 1984.I still remember the day dad brought him home in a box on the back of his motorbike. We kids didn't know he was getting him. He bonded with me straightaway and although a gentle guy was very protective of me.Sadly my husband doesn't like dogs in the house so we have always had rabbits as I wouldn't be happy without a pet🐰

They're nice dogs are collies!

A colleague at my old job had a border collie called Sheba who died last year when she was 14 and was devastated.

Prince was a rough collie. My brother and his partner had a lovely border collie, Gypsy, who was a rescue dog. They had to have her put to sleep a couple if months ago. She was14

Aww Snowdrops, I know that feeling so very well. She was beautiful bless her and you were blessed to have her in your life for fourteen years, one of ours was just eight when we had to have him put to sleep, his brother was fourteen - so unfair that he had to go so young. xx

Sorry for your loss, I feel for you, I am a cat person and go very low when I have to part with one, I keep photos around and think of all the good times we had, and try to take the best care of the two I have now. I am going to a space in Cat Heaven when I die and all my cats will be there at least 20. If you feel like it at some point, there are many dogs in the shelters that are in need of a loving home. I send you Peace, Love, Strength and Big Hugs........

Thanks Sprinkle, I would love to adopt a dog but I am renting and no animals allowed here! But understandable, as dogs do shed their fur and it gets into the carpets as well, and also the pet smell some Landlords don't like! Hope one day if I I can might have a pet again! But only if I were still fit enough to walk it πŸ₯°πŸ™

Why not ask if you can have a cat as they are less bother?

Better not at the moment as I am still working and it's just too much for me at the moment to cope with!! Na have to have something repaired here first which would cost my Landlady without insurance over Β£2000Got a small hole in my plastic roof of my conservatory! Only discovered that in October! But it's only the top layer! It doesn't rain in, so that's a bonus for now!

But my daughter got a cat and small πŸ•, so they compensate! My Labrador had to be put to sleep as she was really struggling physically, February 2009!

I still have her Urne and Ashes πŸ’•

Only just seen picture beautiful placid look my nephew has a black lab called Isla xx

Its always hard to take losing a pet as you get attached to them no matter what creature it is.

Oh Snowdrop I am so sorry. It is so difficult to find words of comfort at a time like this. When a dearly loved pet pass on they leave such a void in our hearts and homes. And it's a very real pain we have to deal with. But I know that day by day your pet's spirit and the memories of the life you shared together will help fill that awful void.Love Chrys xxx

What a lovely old lady, and I'm so sorry you lost her. It's as painful as losing a human member of your family. It's so sad that when we take on a young animal, it's with the knowledge that we will at some point have to say goodbye to them. But I guess the thing to focus on is the lovely relationship you had together and that you gave her a first class life and that you loved each other. The lovely thing too is that although this was a heartache for you, watching her as she declined, she only knew your love and had no fear what would come in future. I can see that you will always have her with you in your heart and head. And that's a little bit of a consolation. πŸ™πŸŒˆ

I love her soulful eyes πŸ’– I'm sorry she's gone, but glad you enjoyed your time with her

Absolutely beautiful xxxx
