I have been having pain in the left thigh and buttock for about two months now. I have been given morphine to fool my body into thinking it is okay, with both slow acting tablets and a quicker acting suspension. I was given an appointment for a CT scan of my pelvis to check all is in order there, and that I did not have any metastases from my prostate cancer doing nasty things. The hospital is about 25 miles from here I live.
Despite the morphine, the whole trip and procedure was agony. It took all me will to keep still while on the scanner. The 20 minute scanning felt to last an age.
By the time we got home, I was within a hair's breadth of screaming. As the car climbed the last hill, I was urging myself, "Come on Brent, you can do this, we are nearly home."
It took hours for me thigh to calm down. I slept most of last night in a puffy chair, the act of laying down merely exacerbating the pain.
Here's hoping the CT scan finds something of value and that we can move forward with a diagnosis.

Oh dear Brent, Reading your post I re-lived that dreadful journey you experienced on Thursday. I dont know how you do it but you certainly seem to find the strength to deal with such agonising pain.I hope your scan shows what is causing it and that a solution will be found. People like you certainly deserve it.
Sending you best wishes and a big Welsh cwtch. Xxx
Hello Brent,I am so sorry your in so much pain and discomfort, fingers crossed 🤞 it will start to settle soon. Well done in getting thru the day yesterday it sounded horrendous, hopefully soon they will get back to you with the results.
I pray 🙏🏻 that you will be able to relax a bit today and get some rest.
The scan might be helpful - if they have someone good to read it.Most buttock/thigh pain is, I think, caused by spinal misalignment or an inflamed piriformis impinging on the static nerve - have you seen a good osteopath?
Brent, I am so sorry to hear of your agonizing pain during your journey. Being in such pain is a terrible thing. I am relieved to hear no metastases were found but hope the scan can shed some light on the route of your pain. Take care Brent. 👍😊
Goodness Brent, that sounds awful. I hope all will be well with the scan results and they can quickly get what's causing the pain under control soon. x
Brent, I'm so sorry you are in so much pain. I don't know how you managed to get through the day especially when travelling makes your pain worse. I'm keeping my 🤞 that you get some relief soon Take care and stay safe Lynne
I would like to thank all of you for your messages of sympathy and support. I have told my better half many times that if only love was a cure (and especially hers), I would have been cured quick sticks. Unfortunately it is not so. Your messages cannot make the pain go away, but at least they make it more bearable. So, thank you all very much. I don't know how long it will be to me getting the results, but I shall be sure to post news of the outcome once I have any.
Really tough Brent_Wilson. Severe pain is so wearing. I hope that enduring so much in pursuit of a CT scan turns out to be worthwhile in terms of finding a way forward.
