As a small child, I remember saying to my mum that when I went to my friend Janet's we had sugar sandwiches with WHITE bread and why couldn't we have them at home! I know now! ;) These days I am a little healthier and my fav is Pumpernickle (German black bread) with goat's cheese and tomato, yummy!! xx

French Baquette with mature cheddar cheese, sliced tomato. Iceberg lettuce with a light sprinkling of sea salt as a lunchtime treat, or bread and dripping with a sprinkling of salt, which was a breakfast treat on Monday, after the roast on Sunday!

I still do! I make fudge occasionally so am inclined to dip into the tin a few times😄 I dont make it very often as it's so loaded with fat and sugar. And one piece is never enough😄😄😄

A bacon,Brie, lettuce and cranberry with gluten free (not through choice) is delicious.

Coronation chicken with salad also is delicious.

Great question 😊

in reply to Narwhal10

stunning. hadn't thought about the bacon. Have some cranberries in a bag - think I might simmer with OJ and fry a slice of bacon. No brie in the house but have some soft goat cheese, and mixed up some no knead artisan bread and cooked in my dutch oven... so thanks for the inspiration!

My pleasure hope you enjoy. A salty, creamy, little bit of tart and sweetness delight.

I also love drunken devils on horseback (not a sandwich) but generally served with Christmas dinner or Thanksgiving. Soaked prunes or apricots in Amaretto then wrapped in bacon and grilled. 😊

wow. yumm....

Egg mayonnaise sandwich on wholemeal bread is my absolute favourite. Yum! :-)

I like a doorstep of homemade sourdough with lashings of butter and some good jam. Simple but delicious!

Just a simple bacon sandwich on brown bread for me. It has to be a good quality bacon though.

Funny I should see this now! I have just had some of that thin pocket bread with homemade coleslaw and Lentil Dahl (cooked lentils with cumin, ginger, garlic, coriander & butter). It was very enjoyable.

Sounds delicious😊

Would you believe it mam loves cheese and onion sandwhiches LOL red onion she can't have much cheese tho, I love spring onions I do feel onion kinda lessens the cheese taiste though and as I can't have extra mature now. Well just thought I'd tell you that and I found it interesting reading people's sandwhiches what a nice post 😋but now I'm hungry

All your lovely idea are making me feel hungry already and I only just had breakfast!

I think I'm one of a very small minority - I love, just love soggy sandwiches where sliced tomato has soaked into the bread and then been left to sweat in a lunchbox (usually at work) Bit of a mess to eat! Tomato on top of egg or tuna mayo for extra sogginess.

I've only met 2 others like me but it's like we belong to a secret society...anymore out there?!
