Dear All,

This is NOT my usual 'Fayre' by any means... but I have just watched an extreemly good Re-working of 'Frankenstein'. A husband and Wife Team, creat the 'Monster', initially as a Beautiful Young Man, 'things' go wrong and he becomes disfigured. The scientists try to Kill their creation.... trying to Kill a 'Re-Amimated' Corpse, Good luck with That! Needless, to say, the 'Monster' gets away.

All the 'usual' Parts are there, the Young Girl, The Blind Man along with some- quite grewsome Scenes, with Police, Vigilanties and so on.

The reason that I'm Mentioning it here, is because, the Acting Was So GOOD. Despite the apparent Ridiculousness, of the 'Plot', this was Almost Believable. I'm not, to sure, of the year this film came out- I 'Found' it on Horror Bites, available on my Digi-Box, but it is the one with Danny Huston and Carrie Ann Moss.

As I said I Don't recommend Films much, if at all, but this one IS 'Worth a Look'- if you don't mind some 'Realitic' Special Effects (and blood). The Young Man, who 'plays' the Monster- and also Narrates the film- is excellent, though I can't remember his name. Do check this out....

I studied the original book at university. I was pleasantly surprised as I I only knew the films and TV stuff. If you enjoy reading, it's well worth a go.

Dear Marnie22,

Yes I DO have Frankenstein, Dracula, Dr Jekell and Mr Hyde and The Jungle Book- to name only a few, of my Book collection. On DVD I have some good films- all the Exorcist Films, there are three, All the Omen Films- there are Four (plus the '06,'06'06 re-make). Quite apart from all my recordings. If you can find 'Daybreakers' this is interesting, some Sudo-Science, a reasonable amount of Gore- with an Unexpected, and quite 'happy' ending... worth a look, that one. Flatliners with Keifer Sutherland, Julia Roberts, Kevin Bacon plus some 'others', is a Very Decent film- the youngster that 'Plays' Billy Mahony, is brilliant.

If all else Fails you... the '1966 version' of Dracula is ALWAYS worth a re-run.

Once in a while it's a good idea to step outside your movie comfort zone and try something you wouldn't normally watch. I did see Frankenstein and agree it was made as believable as possible by some really accomplished acting!
