Eddie Grant's a fellow countryman of my husband (Guyana). But he lived in Barbados when I lived there and a lovely person with a big heart for animals. This number's a great countdown to lockdown 2! 👍😃
Aww my boss is from Guyana, must tell you a funny but sweet story, when he first came to London with his cousin they pulled into the station and his cousin said to him 'look at all the bakeries' this was during th 60s and they had never seen so many chimneys sending up smoke in their lovely warm country only from the bakeries, he still laughs about it now, big shock for him xx
One thing that makes me emotional are those old Pathe movie clips of the first immigrants from the Windies as they arrived off The Windrush. So unsure, so beautifully dressed in suits and white shirts with ties, hoping for a better future. and such a shock awaiting them with the cold, the industrial scene (like the chimneys) and far beneath warm welcome they received. It's a good job most of them got through and still manage to find something to laugh about in it! Guyana's a beautiful country. The 'Land of Many Waters'. I only visited once (to get married) and I absolutely loved it.
