I'm afraid to report that all of my photos on my phone, there must have been over 200 which included my granddaughters, have disappeared.
I have been on to Samsung support and they cannot retrieve them either. I copied them and pasted a selection of them to my computer this afternoon and rather than paste them the whole lot, including the ones I hadn't copied, disappeared.
I'm not impressed to say the least.
The ability to reply to this post has been turned off.
Fortunately the ones on Facebook are still there so I'm going to copy those back on to my PC๐๐
Oh what a terrible disappointment Alicia. How very odd and annoying! At least you have the memories of a lovely time in your head. It's a little bit of a compensation. I'm sure you've tried every avenue possible but I'll still cross fingers and toes that at least some of them will be found somewhere, either on your phone, or your computer. So sorry! ๐

It really is Sue but I do have some on Facebook so I'll copy those back to my phone and PC.
They have to be on the computer somewhere so hubby us going to scour it tomorrow. Good thing is I put the photos of our granddaughters on Facebook so I can retrieve those.
Thank you Bobby, I did everything I should have done ie. I didn't delete them, just copied them. Fortunately I can get a few back off Facebook.๐๐ค๐
I am so sorry to hear this Alicia, and I hope that there is some way of accessing them again. It's a relief that some of them are saved, but I can understand how upsetting this must have been, and want to send you a hug.
My hubby is going to have a good look on the PC tomorrow to see if he can find them, it's really strange. Thank goodness for Facebook.
Aww, thank you Zest.

Hi
I'm so sorry this has happened, you must be so disappointed. I'm glad you have some on Facebook. I remember years ago when we had to take our films to be developed, they lost them!! I wasn't best pleased!!
Love and hugs Lynne xxxx โค๏ธ ๐ค๐๐

Thank you Lynne, I am but at least I have some on Facebook which is good. I shouldn't think you were because there was no way of getting those back.

Thank you Jerry and yes it really is, thank goodness I'll get some back via Facebook.
Oh that's really disappointing cf and strange to say the least, I really hope your husband can find them. A few months ago there were two Samsung security updates on my phone. I didn't take any notice of it at first as updates had never been a problem, but suddenly about two/three months ago, I realised that all my last text conversations with one of my sisters (who died almost two years ago) and who I was very close to and my two nieces were gone and so were conversations with friends that I had kept for a couple of years. My phone was nowhere near full and I would still have had about eight hundred or so texts to go until the maximum for storage was reached. I desperately tried to get them back but I couldn't. I was so upset about it but I couldn't do anything and I know it was because of those updates.
Thanks Lynne, that's very kind of you. I was gutted to say the least as we were really close - I never trust updates anymore as that particular update also complete changed the way my phone looks and acts and actually doesn't feel like my phone any more, it's inferior to what it was before. I hope you can get some sleep tonight. ๐ค๐ค ๐ xx
You are very welcome. I would have felt just the same as you. Is there any way you can change your phone?
Thank you.I think I might be going back to square one re sleep. I will persevere for another few days and if it's still not working well I will stop taking them.
Night night sweet dreams. All my love Lynne xxxx โค๏ธ๐ค๐๐
Oh no! That is so upsetting. I know how you feel. I dropped my last phone down the toilet and of course lost everything. The worst being photos of my granddaughter that can't be repeated. I really feel for you. x
Thank you Sheila. I've heard about so many people dropping their phones in the toilet. Fortunately I put the photos of my granddaughters on Facebook so will copy them back off there. xx
Hi I'm sorry about your photos me and my mam have had similar losses I don't know a great deal about this, ours our stored in the phone I had saved some on a memory stick then put in my computer my friend helped with this i guess all we can do is print our favourites out then we have them safe and have as many back ups as we can I lost some kitten pictures of my cat pixie which I can never get back and luckily I did print off some special ones I paid at a print shop I think it's worth it buying a printer, I hope someone can help you with this I'm sure there's a way there still in the phone, my old phone broke and my mam's computer that's how we list ours ๐ค

Thank you. The annoying thing is I copied them, I didn't delete them that's why I find it strange.
I've been on the phone to Samsung and they couldn't retrieve them which i found strange.
I'm sorry you lost some kitten pictures, photos are so precious.
I lost photos on a phone several years ago when the phone was lost. I now have Amazon photos and every pic I take is backed up on to their servers. Iโm half way though backing up the ones on memory sticks and hard drives too, only another 15000 to go..
Itโs unlimited storage and included as part of Amazon prime.
I donโt work for for them, ๐๐, other cloud based servers are available Tโs and Cโs apply.
Thatโs happened to me also, I lost the video of my only grandchild being born. That devastated me, what Iโve learned is after taking pictures I forward them to my email. Your email is forever you get rid of it? So it wonโt matter if I lose my phone, I just go to my email. ๐๐ท
Hello regarding our email is forever I didn't use my yahoo account for a while as had another one after when I tried you use my yahoo again it wouldn't recognise me at all I was on the same computer I used to use it ontoo, as I know sometimes a different device won't be recognised by a email account set up on one particular computer or phone, I think none of it can be trusted it's all like a electric brain sometimes it can just not function properly. I have no idea why my old phone I kept started going funny sending text messages wrong old ones mixing into new ones, so I bought a new one I still had photos on my old one which meant to put on memory stick one day whilst charging it up it just wouldn't turn on a complete mystery ๐ค
That doesnโt matter, you can create a New password. Youโre email should still be there. I have Yoohoo too that I hadnโt used in many years but I have no interest in using it, I never put pictures there I have a Gmail account that I use. ๐ท๐
dear oh dear, I PUT MY NEW DIGI CAMERA /INTO THE WASH accidentally. Is it 100% with samsung? how have you damaged the phone? I fought for 10 years AGAINST SMART PHONE, not so smart user.had to take one out for my bank, accessing online banking, food deliveries or other deliveries.Going back to my camera. brought to a shop, successfully retrieved photos TOTALLY BUST AS CAMERA.
It is normally difficult to delete without being given a warning first,so I wonder if the pictures are there somewhere.I have a device known as Picture Keeper and it will find all photos even avoids duplicates.
That sounds like a very good device. I didn't have any warning whatsoever and just copied some of them, I didn't choose them all but every photo I had disappeared off my phone, very strange. Thank you for mentioning Picture Keeper.
I'm sorry to hear about this as you have some very precious memories. Thankfully you have saved some and hopefully you will be able to find the others. I don't know what's happening with phones. My husband suddenly lost all his contacts for no apparent reason and couldn't get them back. Technology can be a good thing- when it all works ok!
Oh no how devastating! I do hope you can manage to retrieve some of your photos from facebook. I lost alot of my photos from my phone about 3 years ago. They were photos of myself holding my grandchildren when they were first born, including videos, i was heartbroken!
Oh no! Iโm keeping my fingers crossed that theyโre hiding in a folder somewhere on your computer ๐ค Iโm glad youโd already posted some of the photos so not all is lost but still a horrible thing to happen x
Thank you. My hubby has gone through all of the folders on our computer and they aren't there unfortunately. At least I can retrieve some from Facebook. xx
On no! How about doing a restore point on the computer to the day after you uploaded them? I do hope someone can help, itโs so upsetting when there are precious ones involved ๐ค
Hi Alicia, I have over 14,000 some pictures on my phone and iPod. They go automatically to the cloud or they use too. I get hard copies of a sampling of them. I have a lot of Facebook and photo albums. Iโm a bit of a shuttle bug. I have them saved to Walgreens (which I forgot the password and no longer have the email associated with it) Shutterfly which has an app. You can order all kinds of photo gifts from them. What I am trying to say (which Iโm doing poorly at) is save them to several different places. Even saving them to DVD ๐ as a backup would be a good idea. Iโm sorry that your pictures from your phone went MIA. That is very frustrating I know. Over the years I have lost pictures for one reason or another. I hope you are able to recover them one way or another.
Sooooooooo sorry to hear that you , the person who sends us so many wonderful pictures have lost some of yours . You have reminded me to download my over 1,100 photo's onto a flash drive. I do hope /pray you will be able to retrieve them .
Thank you and I do love my photos and I wasn't impressed as they were from my holiday and some of the granddaughters. I have some on Facebook so I'm going to remove some of them from there.
I've switched on a back up on my phone now, I didn't realise it had a back up system. When you buy these phones you get no help whatsoever, we are left to fly solo and look up on the internet.
Oh no! Perhaps your cell phone provider, can help, to see if they can retrieve the photos. Sometimes, items can be retrieved. Iโm sure youโre upset by this, so sorry, for you!
Thank you. Unfortunately Samsung were unable to help so I'm going to get some of the photos back off Facebook. I did upset me but I feel better about it now as there are worse things that happen at sea so to speak and I am fortunate to have put some on Facebook.
