Why is it apparent that the government are not paying attention to the fact that South Korea have had 388 deaths due to corona virus in comparison to the UK's 41,000 deaths? Do the ones who advise think this is something to do with what the authorities in South Korea have done and more importantly what the rules are NOW?

What are the rules in South Korea! Enlighten me please! Just can't watch news all the time as gets too depressing! But now we are in deep waters again! Even flu vaccination shortages for under 65's🤷💉😷
The South Koreans got it right from day one due to having the experience of the Virus in 2015. The USA who have been 10 years 'in front of us' are now saying they will pay more attention to what South Korea have done re protecting all individuals from getting the virus and treating all individuals when they have got the virus.
I agree that 41000 deaths is deplorable compared to 388 deaths and that is a damning situation that has not been addressed and yes that is depressing so why is the public and all others not doing all they can to get rid of this virus. The laxidaisy attitude to masks is but one glaring item of ineptness here in the UK. How many do we see with the mask under their noses? Some contributors have even come forward in saying that is how they wear one........ Unbelievable. They well deserve more than a virus up their nose.
Yes, thank you Micklemus! You are right! As South Korea had a Pandemic then!
I know there are many still very flippant about facemasks etc, seen People as well, joke! I work in a restaurant kitchen, kitchen porter and it's really hard, also wear specs, so not looking forward to tomorrow when back on shifts for 3 days!
But we can't lock down economy again, as jobs will be gone!
This eat out to help out, sorry, was a big mistake from Government! Now we have more cases on the rise and yes I do blame this initiative! But I am greatly concerned how we are going on in the future with this Pandemic if we don't get this under control! 🙄🤷😷
Hi Micklemus
Yes you are so right!
The 41,000 deaths in the U.K, is that figure just hospital deaths? I read that the deaths in old age homes and in private homes were not included.
Best wishes, Tim.
Considering that I've been told by a computer programmer/repairer that South Korea are
regarding technology and computing are ten years in front of any other people in the world I would say that they are very much worth copying for their obvious intelligence. As said they knew what to do due to their previous experience of a serious virus so many other countries 'missed the boat' by not doing what they di from day one.
South Korea have a million more people than here in the UK so the result would still make their total deaths 400 compared to here = 42,000. It might be worth reflecting on the fact that although the laws re masks are being made more strict here there are still far too many people who are negligent and they will adversely affect all and sundry. they do not seem to realise it might mean death for the people who catch this nasty virus and a person does not have to be old as I to die from it.
Noel Gallagher might be popular re his singing but is a clown and should not give advice about masks. Plenty like him are as thick as a barrow load of tripe and they can easily be seen because they are the ones without a mask on in public! It has always been a fact that there are loads of people who are absolutely incapable of learning what to do to protect themselves. Some of them have been dishing out 'advice' which I find incredible.
I agree with you Micklemus, no apologies from the U.K. government definitely does not help matters either.
Have a good weekend, best wishes, Tim.
South Korea population is 51,279,656 so their Covid deaths are a tiny percentage , 0.00077%. Median age is 43.5 compared to 40 in the U.K.
Huge number of recoveries. Probably due not only to widespread mask wearing but maybe there aren’t so many elderly people in care homes.
The government and health authorities failed hugely here, insisting Covid positive patients were returned to care homes.
Why they didn’t use the huge Nightingale wards they’d paid so much for as recovery centres I’ll never know.
I feel as if we’re led by a bunch of overgrown schoolboys who see running the country as an extension of their social lives.
