Yoga practice

I have been trying to be as consistent with my yoga practice as I am with meditating, and it has serious benefits for me. The only trouble is that the calm after the flow seems to be very short-lived... any tips on how to prolong this serene, rested feeling? I wish I could feel like that all the time.

Hang on to that feeling, I have been practicing Yoga for almost 40 years. We always followed up the class with a guided meditation, that helps calm the mind even further. I do not jump up and start doing things, I am calm and at peace, so I continue with what I need to do. I used to go after work then there was little or no stress in my life. My mind and body loves it, give that a try.....I wish you well. Sending love n hugs.......

Paradoxically adopting the attitude ‘this to will pass’ will help as trying to hang onto the feeling is probably causing internal tension and thus dispelling the calm earlier than it might otherwise do so.

All the best

I recently downloaded a free app, there on plenty, the guided meditations are very good and relaxing and they have them for everything. Sleep, anxiety, strength and so on. They last anything from 10 minutes to 106 minutes so will fit in to any schedule you may have. 👍😊🌸

I bought a singing bowl and I ting it when I want to feel calm quickly and it always works. You can also find some chanting music or any music you like and play that. I like to listen to Light of your grace (mooji baba) I have it on repeat while I am just around my house or cleaning. You might like that too 🙂

Yes my bowl does sing very nicely and I do have meditation symbols too but I just ting on the bowl sometimes as I walk past to bring me back into the moment when I’m in a rush. When I go to Somerset I go to a shop that sells glass singing bowls and they are something else! I would buy one if I had somewhere to put it!

I don't know what kind of yoga you practice florapeace, but certainly hatha yoga is absolutely interwoven with meditation practices and is a meditation in its own right. With that in mind I'd say think of it in those terms and remember what it is that meditation teaches you. And that's to say to remain, as much as you can, in the present moment. It's in anchoring ourselves in the present which helps bring and keep the periods of calm. Namaste🙏

How does one start yoga? It is hard for me to start when I am not sure if I did a move is actually a yoga pose. I guess I need motivation and the knowledge of moves. Thanks
