Towards the end of August I came across a post, with a photo, from Agoodenough (Ali)
Her photo was of Pumpkins and some other things that she had made with Needle Felting! Something she had never tried before and it was this that inspired me. I had bought a kit and a pack of assorted colours of wool with booklet of suggested projects months ago and put them away“in a safe place”!!!
After reading Ali’s post a few times I couldn’t believe how easy she made it sound and she really was inspirational. Thank you Ali, I absolutely love Needle Felting! I made this Hare, it’s not perfect but I enjoyed every step of the learning, I spent a few minutes and I spent over an hour at times, it suits whatever time you have or don’t have. I’ve bought two books and going to try so much more but one step at a time.
I have AFib and so much going on with my heart and as a result I am rarely able to venture further than home and garden and although I’m on the Cardiologists list as urgent I don’t think I’m going to be out walking anytime soon!!! So to find this wonderful hobby that really excites me has made a huge difference to me mentally and emotionally.
Thanks again Ali

He is absolutely gorgeous Deborah. I can't believe it's your first go. I've done a bit in the past- I found it very relaxing and therapeutic, as well as letting off steam with each jab of the needle haha.I've got 3 kits:robins, bunny and blue tit. I must get started on them.I hope you get an appointment soon. Look after yourself and enjoy your new found hobby xxx
I hadn’t given much thought about the stabbing, probably because it was so new but you’ve certainly given me a great ‘hint’ re: letting off steam/de-stressing! Great!!
I have everything crossed for the appointment and my GP gave me the Cardiologist’s secretary’s no. so I may hear over the next day or two!!! X
Because he is not "perfect" he is even more charming, and as he is a one off it makes him makes him perfect in my eyes. I'm always drawn to these sort of things. Well done. He's gorgeous!
Thanks Jerry, yes Ali was so supportive in her response and I just wanted to thank her so that she knows how, what she has written, has actually encouraged and inspired others. I hope she gives herself a great big hug x
Ah Deborah that's amazing and I love your Hare, you've done a really good job of bringing out his character. I'm thrilled that you felt inspired by my pumpkins. This is what's so great about this forum as I was first inspired by a watercolour card someone made here which is what made me have a go at watercolours and then made me think want else could I have a go at and I made the pumpkins and rabbit and that inspired you. I'm chuffed so thank you for your post and well done for taking the first steps and bringing your Hare to life. Much better than being in a unformed bundle in a box! Look forward to see what you make next...thank you for your kind words🙂xx
What a cutie and kudos to you for finding a hobby you can do as you have time and inclination. One of the fab things about a hobby is that it takes our minds off of what "ails us" and really can make a huge difference in boosting us mentally and emotionally.
Thank you for posting this; I've begun to think I needed a new pursuit as fall/winter comes and wet weather will make it much harder to be outside. Your post is another motivation to go get those dusty knitting needles and yarn and start a search on Google for reteaching the stitches. Love the support and motivation we receive from others in this group!
Sorry- it's a craft channel . Freeview 85. But you can also watch on their website and programmes stay there for quite a while after they're first aired.
That sounds terrific I'll take a look. I found Lincolnshire Fenn Crafts on You Tube and they have beginners 'How to' start the body shape etc and it's so easy to follow and understand.
I'll definitely take a look at Hochanda, thank you for the comments and the info.
