Please use less abbreviations

Good morning to you all and thank you for being here in these times of need. This is my first post , I was diagnosed with CLL in November 2019. I have learned a lot since then, mainly from this web site. I have one request and I think others might agree, could people refrain from using so many abbreviations. I find I don’t fully read many post because they’re full of them and I have no idea what they may mean. Thank you for teaching so much and helping me through this difficult time

Welcome GardenerCLL.

You ask our members to stop using abbreviation, but you do in your post exactly what you ask others not to do!

But I too have trouble understanding abbreviations, so many members from different communities, PLEASE give full description folks!

What on earth is CLL, its beyond me??

CLL is Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia, a cancer of lymphocytes(infection-fighting white blood cells). The first symptoms are often anemia, and enlarged lymph glands in the neck, armpits, or groin, plus the spleen. It is the most curable form of leukemia for adults, and is often discovered by a blood test done for another reason. My wife, now 75, has amazingly and thankfully been in remission from this disease for a number of years after two separate, very short admissions of chemotherapy. Many people with CLL go for years without treatment, live a normal life span, and usually pass away with rather than from this form of leukemia.
