Evening out - first in a year!

We went to our local gastro-pub yesterday evening, which made a nice change to our own four walls, and we worked it out that we hadn't been out like that since before Christmas.

The bar and restaurant has lots of space and there were nearly as many people there as there would normally be (it's not usually crowded), some having already been and gone. Nothing was any different!

Our host had been lucky to have been open for business all through lockdown because he had keyworkers staying there and did all the cooking etc himself, with the help of his wife. During the day, while the guests were at work, he had a new carpet fitted throughout - lovely improvement, and new cushions on the chairs.

I'm suffering badly today, probably due to sitting for quite a long time on a dining chair last night. I don't think I can blame it on the little bit of walking.

Yes, thanks. Being vegetarian, I opted to have two first courses, with no mains. Very nice and I was too full for a dessert. Looking back, I should have asked for just one first course - as a main. My partner was very happy with his haddock and chips, peas, etc, etc. but he couldn't finish it. I thought I might fast today but I'm hungry, so I guess the calories weren't all that much. Have been trying to get rid of the pain, so haven't had breakfast yet.

Thanks Jerry. The pain is just bearable now. Hope you enjoy your Sunday; we have blue sky here.

That's lovely for you having an evening out after such a long time!

We are planning on an evening out very soon as well probably at a local place not the noisy city bars like walkabout!

Nobody was wearing a mask, but the social distancing was fine, in a natural way. If you are not in a densely populated area, you should be fine. Enjoy it when it happens; many people are still staying away.

Sorry your first meal out in months was marred by not feeling well today. I hope you feel better soon.x

I wouldn't call it "not feeling well" unless you include excruciating pain in that expression. Better today. Thanks for your good wishes.
