What you could do is, first see what apps are free. Then try them and see if any are helpful for you. If someone recommends something that works for them, it does not mean it will work for you. Just put in free apps for anxiety or depression and see what comes up. 😊

Happiness is about being content with what you have.

If only it were that simple. But if,like me, you have suffered severe clinical

depression on and off for years you need treatment and support just like if you broke your arm or leg.

I have also been depressed on an off for over half a century… and I seldom reply to “support” threads, as I think that, if I cannot write anything positive, it is better not to reply.

I found that full depression is a spiral. One which I descended for 14 years. And then slowly it turned around and I started seeing and tasting and feeling again.

Depression is having all of your humanity removed. To care about nothing but still be distressed by things. To have all innocence and wonder replaced with a foreboding knowledge of the darkness surrounding us.

I tried everything including repeating attempts at an 'exit strategy '. Pretty miffed to wake up a lot less dead than I'd intended. I can't remember what turned things around. I know I swore I wouldn't go out on such a crappy ending. I still have the same depression, but I don't suffer with it any more.

I'd recommend good scientifically based books (not self help book) about how the brain works, and PTSD treatments. Meditation or self hypnosis don't require apps or anything clever. The devil may be inside you but so is God. And you can see the world through either eyes.

Self medication is a dangerous path. Self meditation is much better for you.

Good luck. You'll find your way out and it can be a wonderful world.
