After months we have been told we have to be careful more than most. Personally I have been like a recluse, only going for an odd drive with my husband and having a picnic in the car... Although we have sometimes walked on The Heath, with no one around.
Really nervous though, still...
How are others feeling?..
Stay safe jx🙏

You will get used to it. Very odd the first time out but people in general are very good, shops are very well set up and it’s so lovely to feel almost normal apart from the mask.
You will get used to it I promise. Have so far had a coffee out, outside. A trip to Waitrose, very well organised and even a trip to the library. But, I am being very careful. Only one problem! Mask, glasses, hearing aids! The aids going pinging across the room when I take the mask off 😂
Will be fine once I’ve sorted the hearing aids. I think you just have to do everything you can to make yourself feel comfortable. Even if that’s asking other people to move to give you space!

I called in at my local shops earlier on today as I hadn't been there since lockdown was eased and everything was fine with the shops and there was no need to be frightened but you have to go there and prove to yourself everythings fine and there's no need to be frightened!
With the clothes shops they said you can't try things on like you used to!
I have been in isolation for over four months, been to optitions to be told I have cataracts in both eyes, and been to supermarket once, both times wearing a mask...... d@mned uncomfortable, but you have to persevrre! 🤨
Ive been gradually doing things like getting a takeaway coffee, a bit of food shopping and going for walks.I was terrified at first but it does get easier.
Sadly a lot of people in my town are behaving as though there is no virus so I am still being very cautious, avoiding busy areas, still trying to keep 2m away from others.I won't be fojng much in the coming weeks;especially with the rise in cases.
The first coffee I had in months was so delicious! My husband did the food shopping bless him but I had to write a very precise list otherwise he kept phoning me!I did appreciate what he did but I will be glad to do it myself😃Our immediate neighbours had friends round for bbq s and parties in their garden from the start of lockdown.
As you say-the things we took for granted.I was even pleased to go to the dentist for a checkup!Sounds weird but for me it was a touch of normality.
I think our husbands have done a fantastic job, keeping things ticking over. Mine has gone to our local shop, early on a morning and sometimes bought things we didn't need or want. So like you I will be relieved to do my own shopping.
Yes they have. I must admit I had to bite my tongue a couple of times when he got it wrong, but theres no way I would have criticised him as I really appreciate what hes been doing for us.
Hi,
Exactly the same. I have to go to work and then I’m back home, where I stay. Obviously venture out to local shop for food etc. Even there is not safe because they had to close shop as two staff had virus symptoms. I don’t listen if Gyms, Swimming, Pubs or restaurants are open. I’d rather be at home. We do venture out and like you have a picnic in the car or a little walk down local fields, where it is quiet.
We have been so careful for all this time, we will still continue to do so, like you..
People seem to think that because restaurants, pubs etc are open, that's a green light for us to be complacent, although we still need to be as cautious as ever..
I don't know but whilst this pandemic has been happening, we have all appreciated the simple things in life, we generally take for granted...
Thank you, we all must try to stay positive and safe, find things that we can do to entertain ourselves, we're all in this together! Have a wonderful and blessed day!
I have been walking to my local newsagent to pick up my paper near enough each morning since 19 July and wearing a mask and gloves, I do struggle with the mask as I have asthma and copd, but will try and persevere. I have not been to any supermarkets since before I started to shield in March.
But i was so pleased with myself and I felt very brave on Thursday, I went out to meet up with a new found 4th cousin, she live locally and met at her allotment close to me, I must admit I enjoyed it so much being able to relax a bit and my shoulders just dropped, wasn't tense. This was the first time I had been actually out and met someone since before the shielding. We are going to meet up again.
As a shielder living in Wales, I'm stuck in until the 16th, so I've only been going out for the essentials.
Hi
I've been shielding since March and because I live in Greater Manchester we are still very restricted but I will also be taking baby steps when I can . I'm sure you will be fine. My hubby has been doing a fine job with the shopping!! Lots of love and hugs Lynne xxxx ❤️💜Xxxx
