I have a plastic fishpond which has not been cleaned for a long time. It is one of those jobs that does not inspire feelings of joy and anticipation.. So I go stuck in. Ancient clothes were put on and buckets and buckets of water removed. Sludge everywhere. Managed to get the fish out and had a go at getting it cleaned out and a bit more level.
The right hand side was sticking up slightly so I had go at digging it out a bit. All seemed to be looking good so back in the hole the pond liner went and I filled it up . The deep part filled very nicely and looked quite level.
More water went in and sure enough the shallow ledge on the left hand side is sticking up a bit , not badly but just enough to be annoying. and it is now getting hot. Aaaargh. When I was young I would have ripped it all out and started again and stuff the temperature.
I am told that with age comes wisdom. So I popped the fish back in , had a coffee and lovely big prawn salad with beetroot, hummus, mixed salad, some a table spoon of mixed nut and sultana salad, celery, spring onions, seafood sauce.
Today I will enjoy the sun and go for a walk before it gets hot. When the weather cools down I will have another go at the pond - it's all part of life's rich pattern.
