Knowing human nature, many people will do the opposite to what is required of them regardless of the weather, l am sorry to say!

In a strip of land across an island between Ireland and Japan, the Covid restrictions are the latest excuse to rebel!

Yes, but it spoils the day for everyone else who has been obeying the rules and may be seeing family for first time since lockdown . My eldest son came this morning and we had to sit inside with patio doors open instead of outside in the garden or go for a walk together.

just one of those things isnt it - those of us who are procedure conscious at the moment to try & make a new normal & safe life & then youve got those others who just go wild & say forget about the rules we re going all out we ve been waiting for ages-(usually the youngsters are the guilty party -sorry)

The lockdown has been very, very hard for me and my husband not being able to see our sons and their families - fortunately we were able at long last to meet our new grandson two weeks ago (we had missed the first seven weeks of his life) and it would have devastated us, my son and his wife and their two year old if it had been raining and we couldn't go.

As for my other son -we haven't seen him on his own since before Christmas (complicated issues) and sitting in a freezing cold room wasn't much fun.

I don't want to be argumentative but for me it is not 'just one of those things 'I'm afraid

Its ok -thats not the way I meant it to be -I didnt mean thats ones of those things so get over it ---not at all!!!

what I meat was .. there ll always be someone /some people that will disobey the rules & people are selfish & do spoil it for everyone

I know its been hard for you its been hard for everyone -My mum had the audacity to spy on me when I went horseriding -a date Id already arranged at th start of the pandemic -& I havent been able to go for months -Ive got a hospital appointment & one the things Im going to discuss is my resuming horseriding & take emailed eveidence with me of a nurse ho originally dealt with me said she is happy for me to return to it -but im a million percent sure my mum s going to succesfully stop me going - so its been hard for me too

oh I see

Its always the way in every part of life that its the case that a few people spoil things for everyone else!

I doubt that because there will be couples with their arms round each other sharing the brolly or friends sharing the brolly- rain doesnt stop people going out boozing on a normal night never mind when it reopns after 2 months with rules in place

in reply toSara_2611

I love the term Brolly!

What does it mean??

Synonymous for beer??

Sara_2611 profile image
Sara_2611 in reply to

its a slang word for an umbrella as in its raining dont forget your brolly - where are you from -I thought it d gone as a universl slang

in reply toSara_2611

Lol I thought it was Beer!

From US....not common lingo her yet but....

You've started a new revolution.

A Brolly one!

Sara_2611 profile image
Sara_2611 in reply to

OK I don't think a brolly one makes sense

A brolly is an ☔ umbrella So when it rains & you're going out with a friend you ask him/her if they've got their brolly

I find umbrellas are great for standing out in the rain but not for walking in it!

true

It was nice this afternoon here when I went for a walk round the local parks in the rain and hardly anyone was around.

The weather doesnt seem to have deterred people going to the pub opposite me.They've erected some sort of marquee contraption and it appears to be packed both inside and out.Its usually a quiet pub but everyone seems to have gone mad today.

Sara_2611 profile image
Sara_2611 in reply toMadBunny

Its cos of the lockdown -childlike behaviour -in the sense that theyve not sen anything for so long - so luxury so going mad

MadBunny profile image

I agree. For many it seems to be over. I went for a walk into town on Friday and it was packed- no social distancing at all. Everyone was ignoring the one way system which has been marked out on the pavements. I turned round and came straight home!

On a positive note, there was one young man with his little boy- I stood aside and let them through and he thanked me!

There are a few who observe it but they seem to be in a minority.

one pub een decided to close permanently until further notice - i hope others will follow suit -do the right thing

Sara_2611 profile image
Sara_2611

just as I predicted some people were in trouble for drunken behaviour & not social distancing -someone in trouble for drink driving -smashing into the side of a wall of a restaurant

MadBunny profile image

thankfully the one over the road was much quieter yesterday- hopefully Saturday was a one off due to excitement at re opening!

Sara_2611 in reply toMadBunny

Those publicans who had the trouble in their pub are left cleaning the mess

MadBunny profile image
MadBunny in reply toSara_2611

Its a shame because some have been very responsible:as usual its the minority who spoil it for everyone else.
