Go on line to find the charity shop of your choice and information about them is there. Or if you prefer, telephone them for information. Many are asking for donations to be brought to their shops. Some are definitely opening sooner rather than later. Oxfam is selling clothes on line.

I have also been sorting and have about a dozen bags of clothes to be delivered to them. It appears they are not sending their collection vans out for the time being, so I'll just have to wait until they do.

Hi Afrohair,

I live in the West Midlands, and we have two charity shops open, one is Acorns, the children's hospice shop, and the other one is the YMCA. They are slowly resurrecting themselves. Where I live, there have been several charities putting sacks through our letterboxes. We just fill them up and place them outside at the specified time.

Hello Afrohair. I would consider ringing and asking 1st. We loaded the car up and went But they didn't accept the stuff because they were still trying to work through the back log of stuff in the shop Hope you find somewhere Brian

Hi Afrohair,

Some are and others need time to work out a way to safely do it. We asked at several in our locality as we were in the same position as you, with lots of things to donate, and we felt we'd still rather to that that throw good things away. It might not even be a charity's national policy but here, we found Age UK were definitely up and ready to go and we took our donations there. You could phone your local shops or pop in if you are able and just ask individual ones.
