I cycled into the city centre this morning, carried out the weekly shop, had lunch, made brownies and then enjoyed coffee in the garden.
It was also our youngest daughter and son in law's 11th anniversary today. Such a lovely couple, we are so fortunate to have an amazing son in law.
I cycled just over 26.5 miles and it was much cooler today, perfect for a ride. I didn't cycle along any country roads today so no photos.

Hi Alicia, At least you were back in the saddle today and that was a goodly number of miles clocked up! We can't expect photos every single time you go out, but truly appreciate those which you share with us. You had quite a busy day otherwise too. πππ
Glad you've had a lovely day. Happy anniversary to your daughter and son-in-law. We were lucky, I got on well with Dave's parents and he got on with mine. We both thought the world of each other's parents as they did of us. It must be hard when families don't hit it off. He always had a bit of banter with my Mum and I think you can only do that when you get on well.

Thank you. Our son in law is awesome, love him to bits.
I don't like my mother in law, she's 90 and has always been difficult, she's always been self centred, since she was young. I don't see her.

Pity she didn't realize how lucky her son was in finding you because you are so kind, caring , compassionate and supportive. You have helped me a lot. It must have been so awkward at times. Lots of love and hugs Lynne xxxx β€οΈπ€ππ

Unfortunately she's never been that good with her son either, she's always thought of herself before others and in fact has never thought about others. Aww bless you, thank you. I'm so glad I've helped you in some way, that's really good to know and we all help each other on this forum which is really good.
When We got married my mum disliked hubby and said the marriage wouldn't last.Hubbys mum disliked me and said marriage wouldn't last.39 years later our marriage has outlasted both of them.!
I love hearing about your cycle rides and enjoyed seeing the route map.
That's so strange and is quite similar. My mum wasn't keen on my hubby but never stood in the way and could see that he was good to me and treated me well so was absolutely fine with that, it did take my mum a while to get to like people. My mother in law is unfortunately self centred and has always been the same. My sister said my marriage wouldn't last and nearly 42 years later, think she may have been wrong on that one.
Thank you, I do love my bike and I think you may have guessed that ha ha.
Perfect cycling weather I think. Today looks like it's going to be pleasant also. I do hope you daughter and son in law had a wonderful anniversary. πΈπ»
It really was yesterday as I was a good temperature the whole ride. Today has been too windy for me to ride my bike but we've had the little ones here with our son in law and both daughters. Our youngest daughter can't wait for us to have the children next weekend for a sleepover, she needs a break as it's been tough for all parents I think that have been home schooling. They had a lovely one thank you, can't believe it's been 11 years xx
That's good. My daughter is the same, needs a break, it's been tough, home schooling, the children not being allowed friends. I've already phoned her yesterday and told her next weekend the granddaughter can stay over one night. They are excited. ππΌ
It's been very tough on the parents, we never had such circumstances when ours were young so I can only imagine how difficult it's been. My youngest cheered when I said they could come for a sleepover, the girls love staying with grandma and granddad. I bet they are excited and how lovely for you to have your granddaughter to stay over.
That is quite impressive you must be fitl we spend a lot of time in Devon so I know it's not flat keep it up well done cycling is in my opinion one of the best cures for this crappy condition
Thank you Jeff, I do love my bike and it's the freedom I feel when cycling, it's wonderful. Devon is very pretty and I think hills make it more interesting. It really is good for the mind and body, particularly under these awful circumstances.
