Covers are not the way forward. Your saddle needs to support the two bony protrusion of your hip bones that we all sit on. Once this is done, it takes the weight/pressure off "soft tissue" and
makes for a more comfortable ride. Female specific saddles reflect the gender differences in hip bones; the bony points being set wider in women.
That's the physiology of it but at the end of the day, it's down to personal preference.
It's the bony part where I can feel it. I am going to adjust the saddle first as I think it may be a little low, I did think that yesterday when I was peddling uphill.๐
Saddle needs to be level, so if sloping upward would cause comfort issues.
Worth checking.
Saddle height should let you almost fully extend your leg on the downstroke but also be able to have both feet in contact with the ground, albeit maybe tip toes.
I need a saddle 2 feet wide, but have not found one.
That was a long bike ride. You have some lovely countryside where you live.
I have not been outside into town now for about three weeks. We do not see many people as we are in lock down. However we do go for walks with the Dog, Pax My Wife takes Him out in the morning and I go out for exercise with Pax in the afternoon. Shopping is delivered and meds brought here for me.
We have been gardening today so I am still very sore

Thank you Bob, I'm fortunate to live in the country.
I don't see many people when I'm out and out city centre is beautifully quiet so easy to keep a distance.
That's an excellent idea as yiu both get your walk, animals give yiu so much pleasure.
Oh what a lovely photo. So glad you are able to ride your bike, I doubt I would make it a mile on mine!!! Thankfully my drug store, as long as I order a 90 day supply they mail it to me!!!. Sending you good health, keep having fun. Love n Hugs....Sprinkle.....
Thank you for taking the time to write to me. I am English, I was born in Lincolnshire (a Lincolnshire Yellow Belly). I left to get what I hoped was a better living in Nov 1964. I have had an interesting life, I came back after 3 years, homesick, but found out too late I was homesick for Calif. came back, became a citizen so I could sponsor family members and Vote.....That's a whole other story. So I live here and enjoy my life Now, it has been hard and painful at times, but I have made it thru. Therapy was a godsend, and medication to help me with my depressions and anxiety attacks. I am proud to say I get up happy and go to bed happy. I just went thru 3 years of hell with my faulty brain, but now on med's that help and a wonderful therapist who has helped me to understand my illness. I admire you and wish you well, keep healthy, I am sure the bike rides will help with that, especially if the sun shines and you get the Vit. D. Sending as always out of my well of love with lots of hugs.....Sprinkle 1.....
A very interesting life you've led and I'm so pleased you are in a very happy place now. It's also obviously your grit and determination that's got you there. How lovely to go to bed happy and wake up happy.
Glad you like cycling and hills, I hate hills, got one from my flat to river nearby only short hill and often watch other people running up it for exercise. Never have liked hills used to find it easier to walk up them backwards, while looking over my right shoulder, got some strange looks but could get up hill quite fast like that. I find it even worse going down hill. Live in a hilly part of the U.K with lovely scenery though and near the sea. Glad you enjoyed your ride to and from the pharmacy.
It's more of a challenge for me, I kind of set myself these challenges. I can tell though I do need to get some more strength in my legs for sure as i could really feel it.
Now running up a hill is a different matter, that's very hard and I'm not keen on it. It's whatever works for you and if you can safely walk up backwards then why not I say.
I also live in a hilly part of the UK, the rolling Devon hills but it is beautiful. Lake District is my ultimate favourite though.
I'm self isolating in the advice of my Dr, however in normal circumstances I would be visiting the gym twice a week, practising yoga and Pilates & running at least 5k on the treadmill. As you can imagine I'm really missing my exercise, especially as it keeps my joints mobile and reduces pain & stiffness. So I've taken to using my exercise bike, alone & in my garage I listen to the radio or a talking book, and do you know what I'm really enjoying it. It's a break from all the stress & madness around now. I follow up with a nice pampering shower which also helps with my feeling of wellness. ๐ดโโ๏ธ๐ดโโ๏ธ๐ดโโ๏ธ๐
Lovely view. Keep up the good work! It is 4:00 am here, 68 degrees, and clear, so in a couple of hours, after breakfast, I hope to take my 3 mile walk through our neighborhood (mostly older people in town and patio homes) and back. Good day!
Just letting my porridge settle before taking my Government approved exercise which I will share with a household member (son). Bike ride in the Lincolnshire countryside. One short , steep climb and then a blistering 30+ mph downhill.
Nothing like exercise and attractive scenery. I had the aching butt problem and bought a prostate easing saddle. It definitely reduces pressure on the nether regions.
Wow. Well done you. Lovely picture. Whenever I have a bike ride I just go as far as my lungs will allow . I rode down to. the pub & back but was exhausted so next time its going to be just down the road & back
When I do go I. tend to leave it a week or two so that like before I get away with being asked if I was in the shower so I can say yes I was if mum tries to ring me saying she couldn't get through (because she's not allowed to come down & check
Maybe post a photo of your bike? I want to see how it is rigged up.
I am using a road bike but only during dry and relatively warm weather. It is not suitable for wet conditions. I am assuming it might be damp now and then where you are.
Of course I'll post a photo of my bike. What I do have is a Trek hybrid and it's a lovely bike, I've had Trek bikes for a few years now. I also love hybrid bikes. Oh it certainly gets damp and the weather from the 3rd week in September right through to end of February was very wet.
I live in the UK in the West Country, where are you?
They are and I don't think I'll ever change the make as I love them.
So lovely to live rurally, much better than big cities. It's the West Country of the UK where I live and I also live in a rural area, so much nicer.
I know the bikes you mean, they do look good and are ideal for rural areas and tracks. I took part in a challenge in 2018 and didn't have any suspension on my old bike but was pleasantly surprised as I was fine but it did have a good saddle.
I use my fir fun and errands, our city centre, which is not very big is about 7 miles from where I live.
