Hi, I’m in Wales too and my letter said 16th August. I’m very concerned about going out. I live in Pembrokeshire and am dreading the holiday makers coming back to their 2nd homes, static caravans etc., I know they have a right to use what they’ve paid for, we had a static here before we moved here last year, so I can understand their desperation to get here, but with my health conditions I think I will be staying very much local. Take care.

Same here for Ceredigion. I live near a tourist honeypot. I dread the crowds and shall do all I can to avoid them.

Shielding was designed as a further measure to protect the most vulnerable and remains so. Cancelling the arrangement does not mean that it has suddenly gone away although I have it on good authority that one would be very unfortunate to catch it in London and the South East as it appears to have, in the main, moved North. This proposed new arrangement is because we are needed back at work earning for the country and the risks are perceived to be a little less at the moment. This pestilence has not just gone away or decided to attack other areas, therefore my advice would be to stay put and keep away from people, be doubly cautious, wear gloves and mask if it is truly necessary to go out. This will only be over for us when there is a proven treatment or cure and that will not be for a long time.

Stay safe back your own judgement and do not pay attention to the government's proposals as they have proven ulterior motives and no wit to really understand what is going on with this virus as their advice and understanding changes from day to day. They should stop treating the population as morons and tell the truth not pretend that their advice is for the greater good and therefore anything is ok.

Hi bobbyfloyd, I'm sure it's absolutely sensible to stick with what you feel will keep you safest. I'd only say, don't fall into that trap where you feel you will never be safe to resume a little normal life. That would be living a half-life. But meantime, do whatever you are comfortable with. Including after shielding officially ends for you. 👍🙏

Good morning bobbyfloyd, stay safe yes it has been suggested in England we sheild till August but we are allowed to go out from July its about relaxing the regulations at a slow pace rather than just suddenly lifting total sheilding. It still remains very much a personal choice and risk is still there. Have a peaceful day.

I agree with you! Im glad Wales has a much more cautious approach. In fact you would think Mr Johnson would, by now, see the results of the aftermath of opening up too soon in other countries. The latest being the tennis tournament recently organised in Europe somewhere; A number of the men taking part have contracted Covid 19 and as a result it had to be cancelled. They thought being young and athletic they were invincible! Disgraceful of Novak Djokovich to organise it with no thought for others.

and the north of England, and Germany and the Smithfield site in America, all owned by companies that wouldn't listen to their unions and adopt safe working practices. To avoid spoiling the meat room temperatures have to be kept at 7 degrees or below. which suits the virus just fine. I am not looking forward to the beginning of winter.

We are South West and my letter arrived yesterday giving me the date of 31st July but we will take it very easy and cautiously for as long as we think fit.
