On my iPhone, it says that you cannot turn it on without an authorised app installed.

Think it's the same on android.

No doubt, the authorised app that S11m mentions will be installed without our knowledge also. Damned cheek! 😖

I wouldn't be surprised 🤨

How can they install an app without your permission? Couldn’t you just delete it?

I bet if we tried, we wouldn't be able to. I am pretty sure I know when this happened. It was a few days ago and there was a notice on my phone saying important updates waited to be downloaded. I didn't click on it because the last time that happened, Samsung changed my phone almost beyond recognition and I was so angry about it. I don't like the way it looks and it even changed my home page icons to look totally different. I'll stop there because I am getting ratty. Anyway, I didn't click on it - I just left it and switched the phone off that night. When I switched on in the morning, the notice was gone and as the phone was loading up I could see a little downward arrow going up and down so I think that's probably when it was downloaded. If that happens again, it will probably be the other app. What a nerve!

I think it needs Location and Bluetooth switched on , to enable it to function.

Yes I thought about Bluetooth yesterday but didn't give Location a thought. Many thanks. xx

I've just remembered that I don't usually have Bluetooth switched on but it was switched on this morning - not by me though! I wonder who did that!

Yes, I found it, but it’s not an app, you have to download it. It’s just making you aware you can use it if you wish to ;)

Omg yes it's there in Google I'm being tracked twice now, my arthritis is bad but I do a few hours a week low level care support just joined an agency that uses an app called nurse buddy it knows where you are to less than a 1/4 mile or a couple of hundred yards, it did cross my mind whether they could help with developing a tracking, tracing app Google nurse buddy it is a company based in Ireland

It arrived on my Spanish mobile too, lurking in the background

I'm not too worried a) it is off and b) no functioning app to download and link with it yet

I'm hoping it's just part of Android update

Fingers crossed no-one is 'following' me, they'd get really bored of bedroom, bathroom, lounge, kitchen, garden trek that is my main activity these days!!

Ann xx

Odd, it’s on mine but not my daughter’s!
