Quotation for Thursday 18th June 2020

Good morning all,

My thoughts this morning are of fire. Last night there was a fairly major building fire just across the street from my apartment and there was, of course, much fuss and ado with emergency services arriving to deal with it. I felt really restless all evening, wondering if anyone had been seriously hurt, or lost their home, but it emerged later that it was not a home, but an outbuilding which burned down, and although one man had been treated on scene for burns and smoke inhalation, he was OK.

With no real expectation of finding a positive quotation on fire, I began to look and actually found one, which I think is really relevant to us all right now.

"What matters most is how well you walk through the fire."

Charles Bukowski, (1920-1994, an American poet and writer)

Isn't this what we've all had to do? Walk through fire? Something which has been painful, searing, unwelcome, dangerous and that's brought tears to the eyes on so many occasions?

I guess we are beginning to walk through the embers now, but whichever way we've managed it, we have shown the fortitude to walk through that fire and can now begin to emerge on the other side of it.

We should praise ourselves for that. It's taken courage!

Continue to take care everyone, and have a good Thursday.

A powerful quote and your interpretation of it, brings home the current situation and how we are all healing at the moment and finding out way through the clearing smoke. 😊🌸

Thanks bobbybobb! 🙏🔆

Thanks Jerry! I am like you and finding the exit much harder than the entry. It's much more uncertain, so just trying to find that courage to get out there and give a fuller life a try again. We've had all our confidence zapped by something which was much mightier than we are. It will come for all of us, I'm sure and I think we have to find our own pace through reassurance as well as personal experience that we can be OK again! Thanks again for your kind words. 😊🙏🌈🔆😎

Good morning

I hope you are well

This is a very powerful and uplifting quote

How well you walk through a fire

Incredible

How many fires have we faced and how we have come out of it

This in itself should breed confidence and gratitude for what we have

I can only think of those caught up in the Grenfall Tragedy only three years ago

Very hard to see how human life at time’s can be transient and tragic

It is a great blessing no one was injured in the fire near to you

I take comfort from your quote today

It seems I have agreed for the tenant to move in and I think it was fear and anxiety which surfaced until a compromise was found

I know if I had no I would have be regretting saying no but I will have to wait and see

I have sought the advice of many but I had to weigh up both sides of the equation and make a decision

Thank you for listening to me

A fabulous photo and a very strong quote and what an excellent analogy you've given it. We've definitely had to walk through fire and it's been a tough thing to do but now we certainly seem to be on the way out.

Take care and enjoy the rest of your day.
