After getting a new battery my lovely, go out and turn the engine on at least once a week, let it run for a while. Evan press the excelerator a couple of times, but better still, take it out for a drive!
It may also need an alternator and new tyres, if it's been sat for more than a few months. lts a good idea to check for nesting animals and chewed cables and pipes. Then it will be an MOT as well.
The emergency services Green Flag attempted to charge the battery but it won’t start
I have hardly used the car and this is why it will be towed tomorrow for a new battery
Hi Roukaya,
What a nuisance, but don't feel too bad about it. The expense is the worst thing, but we've all had such a lot to think about in recent weeks, that it's small wonder you haven't been thinking about car maintenance. In the scheme of all we've had to put up with, I'd try to just smile about it and be glad it's only a car battery, and, as you said, just remember in future that it's yet another thing we have to keep our eye on (even in a pandemic)! 😃
It is so true, if you don't take care of the little things, they turn into major events down the way. Luckily Greenflag saved the day. I am with them and they are very prompt, with good service. xx
Roukaya now you know to run your car so the battery doesn’t go flat. If you have long periods between driving that would cause a lack of confidence. I’m fine in the day but I don’t like driving at night when I went a long time not having to. Funny creatures aren’t we!
At least your battery should be okay next winter as that’s when a lot of batteries fail. When the weather gets cold.
Take care, Ali 🙂
