This is sopie4 writing to tell you I need to sign off from HU for a time.
I've shared, through a Post I wrote a month ago, that it is necessary for my sister and I to move. After 17 years living here and feeling very secure, we are shocked and confused as we received continual mixed messages from our landlords.
Documents in writing are not a guarantee!! This is a lot to digest and cope with for two oldster sisters, (70 & 76), living with multiple disabilities. The chaos of finding new housing and packing up is quite a challenge.
It's very important to me that no one feels I've ignored you by not responding to messages or Posts. I will miss this very, very important part of my day and evening very much.
Wishing every single person a SAFE, HEALTHY, lovely spring and summer. Enjoy the warmer weather, flowers blooming, birds singing...all the beauty that these new seasons bring. A remarkable gift to help us feel happier, more hopeful...to lessen the intensity of change that accompanies the anxiety, sadness, bereavement and fear we've lived with during this past year.
Signing off now with my love.

Hi, Out of interest cant you get the help you need from C.A.B? Its free advice. Atyour age you shouldn't have to worry about things like this.Best wishes and I hope you get things sorted out so that you and your sister can relax.
Come back soon we will be waiting to hear from you.
Things will be different over there, no doubt. Surely there will be a similar body who can help and advise. Must be very difficult living under such circumstances.
Because RoadRunner suggested Sophie contact C.A.B.(Citizens Advice) which I don’t think they have in the USA, but I may be wrong, therefore Sophie cant get advice, as we that live in the Uk can.
getting any kind of help is hard in the u's. i know i live there they don't take care of the elderly i am one we are ignored we can't even live on social security so most of us work til we die
that's a funny one we are too busy taking care of other countries and illegal's so many older people have to make a choice between medicine and food they can't afford both we give money and insurance to any one who comes here and here's a real good one everyone in jail gets the stimulus checks including people on death row one man killed 8 people and he gets a check too gotta love it
i know right? i'm 71 as is my husband he has copd and other health issues he tried to get the shot and they told him he has to be 75 are you kidding me!!!!!
We live in the USA...no C.A.B. I appreciate your suggestion!
Please take very good care and enjoy the new seasons!! Can't believe that after SO MUCH SNOW, it's 70 degrees here...but just for today...then RAIN!! Wouldn't you know it?
Hello Sophie..... hoping you have both had you vaccine jab, and you find a new place to live..... we are all thinking of you, and hope you return to HU soon👍🙂😷🌹
I will miss your wonderful, daily Posts that I look forward to reading as I begin each day!!!...so uplifting, fun and interesting!!! Your consistent contributions to HU are a sheer pleasure.
Is it magnificent in The Garden of England???
My sister, Barbara, will have her second jab on 3/31. I've registered many places but haven't receive any responses. Makes sense...I'm SO YOUNG!!! Only turning 71!! And so, I'm not a priority.
You have received your two jabs, according to your Posts!! WONDERFUL!!
I did read your messages about dear Sasha and have kept Sasha, you, and your wife in my daily prayers. You are so fortunate to have one another. Your loving care will surely help Sasha make a full recovery. If my old brain remembers correctly, Sasha will be 16 on March 16th?
Keep safe, healthy, and happy!! Don't remember the expression you used for Sasha going out to do her business, but it was so funny...gave me a great chuckle.
I'm sure you'll be enjoying the new seasons coming up. Keep listening to your beloved music!!!
I have had my first jab, my second jab is on the 29th April...... it truly is a pleasure to be living in the Garden of England...... and Sasha goes out into the garden for a jimmyriddle!
I'm so sorry to hear that sophie. I truly hope you find somewhere suitable to live where you'll both be very happy. This is cruel what your landlords have done to you both. I wish you all the very best and please stay safe. xx
Sophie...... if I may answer on behalf of Jerry, I believe you remain a member of HU for as long as you want, you don’t have to post, there are many members who are the silent majority, they only click like but never comment, so while you are moving house, you become a silent member, and we look forward to your posts when you return, without having to rejoin(Sorry to answer in your place Jerry)
I will MISS YOU!!!!! We shared so many different things/thoughts together. Many, many thanks!! I'm wondering how you're doing with your computer hunt? Maybe, hopefully, you typed your kind message on your brand new computer that works perfectly!!
Remember...dark or milk chocolate is a lovely help for chasing away the blues.
HiSorry to interrupt. Is that the Ensure drinks? When our son was diagnosed with Crohn's at the age of 12 he had to have the strawberry ones which weren't very nice.. My Mum said I will give you 50p a sip!! He made quite a lot of money 😊😄xxxx❤️💜
I'm truly sorry that this has happened to you, especially during the times we are living in. It's never easy to uproot and start over. I hope this is all sorted without you and your sis having to move. If not, I pray that your next place brings you everlasting happiness and security
Appreciate your wisdom and kindness of replying. Oh, will I ever MISS your Posts!!!! So much fun, so thought provoking, creative and simply wonderful!!! You have helped me very much. You have my deep gratitude, Luna.
Hi Sophie. What a terrible situation to find your self in. Obviously we aren't aware of all the ins and outs, but have you somewhere else to go or have you to start looking. Surely you could involve Social Services or Age UK. It has to be worth a try! On the good side, at least we are getting to lighter nights and hopefully better weather, which has to be an improvement to having to move in the winter. Sorry you have to shut down on here for a while, but fully understand. Maybe it will be something to look forward to once you are finally settled. Sending you best wishes for a successful move! xx
Thank you so much sophie4 for stopping by to say goodbye to us, or more accurately (hopefully) au revoir. I feel for you at what must be a very challenging moment in your lives and fully understand your decision. But I hope that at some point in the future you'll be able to rejoin us, with some of your troubles behind you. Take care too and wishing you all the very best, especially with your move. 🌸🙏
Dear Sophie, as Veteran said i am a silent member most of the time😁.
I write you now just because I have the impression that you think you have to leave HU, while YOU DON’T!
If you move, if everything change around you, remember that your Username and password hear (on HU) don’t change so you can join this wonderful forum wherever you are: you need only your smartphone (or PC) and a Internet connection to post and to chat.
I live in Italy but I use (I would say used😢) a lot and everywhere I follow my favourite websites, I listen podcasts and so on...
Forgive me if I didn’t properly understand your problem.
My best wishes for your moving: try to take the best from this uncomfortable situation being positive and open to discover new good things that you’ll surely find around you!🤞
I just want to wish you and your sister all the very best with your new venture. I firmly believe when one door closes another door will open. However, I fully realize the turmoil this puts you in at a very unsettling time. The only way to eat an elephant is just one bite at a time! Be well!!
Hello Sophie,I hope you and your sister find a place, this is not good for your health etc,if theres anything We or myself can do,hopefully, the next time we hear you will be safe and well, and happily rehoused..all the best and do stay safe!love Goldie.
