Quotation for Wednesday 20th May 2020

Hi everyone,

Yesterday's quotation was quite a long one, so I'm going for something a bit snappier today and I've chosen a quotation by a character from Wuthering Heights, the well known book by Emily Bronte.

I love the Brontes, love the Parsonage museum in Haworth and love Haworth itself, (tourist trap though it may be!) Somehow, for me anyway, it still retains its charm, and last night I re-watched my copy of 'To Walk Invisible' the really good BBC TV film about the Brontes.

Probably my very favourite Bronte book is Wuthering Heights, and this was said by character Nelly Dean. For those who haven't read the book, she's the housekeeper and is the main narrator of the story.

Speaking to Mr Lockwood, she says:

"A person who has not done one half of his day's work by ten o'clock, runs a chance of leaving the other half undone".

OK, Nelly Dean, hands up, I am guilty as charged! Especially at the moment!

Have a great day whether you're busy, or, like me, procrastinating as usual!

First and foremost I love the photo. :)

Oh yes, I'm definitely a procrastinator and the so very true that if you haven't done something by a certain time it'll not get done.

Have a lovely day.

Stay safe and well.

Alicia :)

That made me laugh and Wuthering Heights is one of my favorite classics. I love the picture of the cat. 😊😊

AWWWWWWHH so so cute picture

I, like you love the classics.

Whilst at university I studied this novel, subjugation at it worst, but so well written. If not , like β€˜Jane Eyre’s’ author, the forerunners of feminism and Emily Pankhurst.

Everyone, and especially men, should read these books, and those of Jane Austen. Just to establish what we men do, knowingly or unknowingly to women in general.

They say the gentle sex, we men have no idea!

Thank you every one of you....
