Hi Everyone

This is my first post. I feel it’s time to join in, rather than just observing from the sidelines.

Has anyone followed the course contained in the book ‘The Artist’s Way written by Julia Cameron? I’m embarking on it for the third time!

I’d really like to find a buddy, or at least someone willing to comment on their experience of following the 12 week route to ‘Discovering and Recovering your Creative Self’.

Don’t let the title put you off, it’s a Way for anyone to reveal the blocks preventing a more fulfilling life.

That sounds incredibly intriguing! Can you tell us a bit more about the course?

The book is divided into 12 chapters - a chapter per week. You enter into a contract with yourself as you embark on the journey. This includes 3 pages (or half an hour) of free writing each morning and a solo date per week, having fun with your inner creative. You review your progress each week and pick a couple of suggestions for extra tasks or exercises to consider. Along the way she asks questions designed to identify elements in your life that may have helped or hindered your creativity. You don’t need to have a particular art in mind or be a blocked writer/painter/musician etc, it’s about unlocking creativity.
