Suggest you contact local authority for advise. The shops insurance should cover your items.
If you can make the case you need items for some purpose shop might allow you access now? I assume you have contract or something regarding safe deposits.
Sorry to hear you are having more worries heaped upon you. I used to keep my valuables in my Bank's Safety Deposit, but many banks no longer offer this service for small depositors.
I have never used a Safety Deposit company, so I can't offer any advice, But I really hope it can be sorted out soon.
Cheers, Midori
Hi Roukaya,
I just wonder why you have chosen this to add to your list of worries right now? You say that the company has been in voluntary liquidation since 2016, so I doubt anything is changing with regard to that, right at the moment. As far as you are aware the shop's closure is a temporary thing. I think I'd try to put that worry down for the time being, and focus on the things which you have some control over. It's about the acceptance of the things you cannot change. Imagine if you spend the next few weeks continuing to worry about this, suffering all that worrying brings with it: lack of sleep, lack of appetite, loss of concentration on other things, and then when this is over, you make that call and your things are fine? You'll have spent your last few weeks in futile worry. And actually, even if they are gone, you can't have them back, and all that worry will still have been for nothing.
Hopefully your precious things will stay safe. But actually they are only things. I have lost treasured things through no fault of my own, but in the end, it's the memory of those things and the events that surrounded them that have turned out to be important and not the things themselves. I hope you can find some positives in today, and have a pleasant one. Take care.
I would think once the Bank Holiday weekend is over you need to try to contact then again. You should think about other arrangements for keeping your valuables in a safe place where you feel you have confidence in the company. I think it will be difficult to do anthything today or tomorrow but Tuesday, you must try to retrieved your belongings. Xxx
I think when it has items of sentimental value that are very dear to you, it is only natural to be worried about them. You are not self absorbed, you are just worried about your belongings. I do hope you can get some information after the weekend and retrieve your belongings. πΌπ·π»
I spoke firstly to the head of the Safe Deposit Membership Body and in worst case scenario he explained the same as you
I managed to contact the Manager of the shop this morning and she told me to call the shop tomorrow as they are open as they are a Safe Deposit Box and Pawn Shop
I hope you are safe and well
