For lunch today, I had two gluten free waffles with crunchy peanut butter on them and a Greek black cherry yogurt on the side. The entire meal was 58 carbs.. The peanut butter and Greek yogurt is the protein part of the meal, so I'm not hungry. The waffles were the main carb.. Very filling.

You mentioned peanut butter, now you've definitely sold it to me, yummy ππ
Enjoy! My favorite is crunchy peanut butter. Do you like crunchy or creamy?
I like both, but make my own creamy peanut butter.
How long does it take to do homemade?
Not long at all. Just roast the blanched peanuts, cool them then put them in a food processor. Takes about 10 minutes in the processor. The nut butter starts to look like there's a cog shape when it's in the processor, when that shape disappears it's done.
That's great! Will have to try it when I can.
Definitely worth making, at least you know that it contains only peanuts and nothing else, it's not very oily either.
I tried Brazil nut butter, very oily, then pecan nut butter, never again, that was awful. When I could eat cashews I made cashew nut butter and it was delicious but IBS has ruled cashews out now.
Good to know that we can try different nuts. Have to see what we have here.
You certainly can and cashews were my other favourite and I would eat those a fair bit if I could
I do like the chunky style. However it is all good.
Yes I do as well and if I want chunky then I just leave out some of the roasted nuts and chop them and stir them in when the peanut butter is ready - yum
This is really good to know! Great suggestion! Thank you.
You are welcome, now what makes you think I love peanut butter
Peanut butter, irresistible. xx
Which one do you like? Crunchy or creamy?
Crunchy peanut butter and strawberry jam on wholemeal toast. Totally yum. Unfortunately followed by stomach going ' what the hell !?? '
Sounds yummy. Might try that combo myself. ππΈ
Either way is really good!πππ
I love rice cakes with peanut butter. Have never understood why rice cakes smell like ceiling tiles but taste good! πΈπ
Do you get plain rice cakes?
I do, but I have also recently found that Sainsbury's do their own ones that have pea protein in and those are scrummy. I can eat those on their own.ππΈ
Extra question..... have you tried peanut butter (on anything,) with a few raisins scattered on top? Yum! πΈπ
ZZZZZZZ!!!!!π΄π΄π΄π΄π΄πΈ
I love peanut butter, has to be smooth, or my Crohn's plays up, like it with Red Currant Jelly or bananas, used to love it with celery. Used to have Groundnut Stew as a child in Africa, a nice spicy dish, good source of protein if you could not afford goat for a curry.
Love curries, if I am careful there are some I can still eat, my local Indian does a nice one with chicken and lychees, mild and I think has coconut milk in.
Give over all of you,I'm getting really hungry πππ
That sounds creative and interesting.
is gluten free an alergy, or a part of diet.I had a suspected alergy, was tested for it. all came CLEAR, but some gluten free stuff bread waffles REALLY DELICIOUS.pricy though.was surprised, but used to be bread crumBled, taste cakey 15 years ago...nowmMUCH MORE IMPROVED.TO BE HONEST THANK GOD NO peanut alergy, wld eat the whole jar on its own...protein overload:)quite a different problem weight gain difficulty, equally upsetting as when cannot lose...but society SEE only the weight battle...actually take it LESS SERIOUSLY, I'd claim even jokingly, ONE CAN EAT AND EAT...AND alter a notch on a belt, whereas serious when one cannot zip up jeans...it is all metabolic disorder, I am at the age mid 40s when the system shld slow down. as if, can get into my wedding dress? STRESSED OUT LAST YEAR, so food burning twice over...just a part of life...slowly destressing. ALL GOOD.
There's Gluten Sensitive which means that a person can be around wheat/gluten products, but can avoid them. I have Gluten Sensitive/Intolerance issues. I eat anything with wheat in it, I have horrible cramps that make me unable move/walk and then have other issues along with the cramps. Been on a gluten free diet almost 5 years.
That sounds like a solid and satisfying breakfast Activity2004. I bet you enjoyed that!
It was a really good breakfast/lunch.
Activity2004 I have been having two slices of toast with Marmite crunchy peanut butter every lunchtime since lockdown. I am hooked on the Marmite version so my vitamin B levels must be sky high. So easy to make when busy with these long awaited jobs in the garden etc. Nobody I know likes Marmite or peanut butter. Please say you do! I even get mine delivered by Amazon as I can't get a Tescos slot. Lidls have it too but not Morrisons. Enjoy!
That sounds delicious ππ
Thank you for saying that, Hidden . Made my day!
It does sound yummy!!
Thank you! It was really good!πππ
Ooh Activity2004 where did you get the GF waffles? Or did you make them....my daughter has a gluten intolerance so always looking at new carb ideas for her. Any recipes would be amazing
Hello Activity2004
When I was a kid, I had two cousins who eat nothing but creamy peanut butter sandwiches for all meals. I asked them why they never ate my favorite crunchy peanut butter. They said crunchy peanut butter was too much work.
It's okay!
Every morning i get up at 9.30 have a shower walk the dog and at 1130 i have a small bowl of porridge with a handful of walnuts, grapes, blue berries and a couple of strawberries. I HAVE NO IDEA OF HOW MANY CALORIES BUT I KNOW ITS BLOOMING LOVELY!!! be lucky stay well
Thank you! You stay safe and healthy, too!πππ
what would we do without peanut butter. I am going to try on the waffles also, thanks for the ideal.
Nope. Me neither π
sounds really nice- but Id ve done without peanut butter because I hate it & would change the yoghurt to strawberry, orange, or mango because I dont like black cherry either
speaking of blood sugars -some years ago I ate lots of sweets & my sugar levels understandaly went sky high & nearly ended up with type 2 diabetes so i immediately stopped eating them all & wont even have a treat & eat a small amount because it scared me so much & gave me a wake up call so I always check the sugar amounts on food. 6grammes is what I'll go too or maybe 6.5 but anything higher is a none starter
