Do you means Restless Leg Syndrome? If so, I fortunately only get it very occasionally. Sorry I can't help but I just wanted to say I feel for you as it's a horrible condition. I saw a programme on it a while back.

Just looked online and saw this:

Yes it is very annoying. It is a problem Fibromyalgia sufferers seem to be afflicted with. I get flares of it myself. On the Fibro site many people try an array of different things to settle the symptoms. Some people also take medication to settle it down from their GP. 😊😊🌷

It's an awful thing as when I occasionally get it it drives me mad, I can only begin to think how people must feel.

I didn't realise that it's something that Fybromyalga sufferers get.

I find that taking iron supplements works for me. XX

Hi 179346, I've had restless leg syndrome for quite a lot of years now. I don't take medication at all, but I have noted carefully what causes mine and try to avoid situations where it will arise. If my legs get too warm, or too cold, it's a definite trigger. Over-tiredness does it too. Sometimes I waken out of sleep with it, and I get up and massage my legs vigorously. I have a plug-in massager which helps, as does walking for a while, even if only round and round my apartment. If it goes on and on, taking a bath or shower helps too. Speaking of showers, it's commonly held that placing a bar of soap in bed with you will prevent it happening in some people. (That never did anything for me I have to add).

Craziyfitness's link is a really good one. I can recommend the advice given there.

Take care and I hope you find some strategies to help you cope with this really irritating syndrome.

Yes that's another good point, I am iron deficient and when my levels are low it is definitely a trigger for it. I often have to take iron tablet's from my GP. Might be worth getting your bloods checked. 😄😄

I get this very occasionally and don't take anything for it but has anyone looked at magnesium supplements for it?
