Hi all, just a quick update on progress. I received a carnation ambulatory 7 day moniter last week to record my AF for the EP. Thursday evening I had a 6 hour episode that was relatively mild. Friday morning I got the moniter in the post and attached it to my chest as per instructions. A little confusing as the info sheet from the hospital states to press and hold the button for 5 seconds once it's stuck to the skin. Unfortunately I watched the video recommended by the manufacturer which doesn't say that so after about 3 days when I was casually reading the hospital paperwork I gulped and thought to myself 'bugger, is it switched on ?' I called the hospital and they didn't know and apologised for the possible misinformation. I called the manufacturer who were really good and said it should be okay as it should start recording once you put the cam in the holder before attaching it to your chest. If I have one gripe it's that the moniter only attaches with adhesive and several times during this hot spell I've found it's slid down my chest or I've woken to find it's not in the right place. I'm hoping that it's recorded correctly as I've had a couple of very light episodes of missed or extra beats over the week but no AF of note (sods law) I bet when I take it off tomorrow I'll have one π Has anybody else used one and had feedback regarding findings?

Hi Hammerboy , thanks very much for your post. I wasn't sure if you would rather post this on the AF Association community which can be found:
healthunlocked.com/afassoci...
I think the members of this community will be more likely to help you. I hope you will still like to use this community for positivity during the current pandemic.
Best wishes,
Sadie
I feel your frustration Hammerboy and empathise. Trying to pin down episodes of intermittent AF is like trying to catch a butterfly. I've had similar experiences with a 7 day monitor, twice to be precise and both times the findings were insignificant, only for the tachycardia to return, the minute I handed back the monitor. I wish you the very best of luck! π
Thank you, I'm lucky to not have too much discomfort at this stage. I was hoping the ablation would be a success but since being on this site I've come to realise it can be a long and challenging road with no guarantees
Best wishes π
Typical when you want an episode don't and the minute you take it off you will. My friend should have been having her ablation next week but it's been cancelled hopefully not for too long. Hope your test goes well
