A quotation for Wednesday, 1st April 2020

β€’12 Replies

Good morning everyone,

Today I've chosen a quotation which, on the face of it might be thought to be silly and flippant when I say that Christoper Robin said this to Winnie-the-Pooh, in one of the famous children's books, but actually it's a real inspiration and, in any case is really a quotation by A A Milne, when writing these stories for his son whom the family affectionately called Billy Moon.

"Always remember you are braver than you believe,

Stronger than you seem,

Smarter than you think,

And loved more than you will ever know". - AA Milne -

And I hope you can all reflect on that and perhaps you'll see that at least some of this applies to you too.

Take care everyone and I hope you have a happy day. πŸ™

I really like Winnie the Pooth , Tiger and all the characters of Beatrix Potter

Incredible writers

I also like Peter Rabbit πŸ‡ very cheeky and funny in the film

I would actually go to the cinema and see the animation come alive

Truly mesmerising

Hi Roukaya,

I love all of the characters you mention and have done life-long. I'm very fond of Peter Rabbit and last year was lucky enough to get to see Beatrix Potter's house in the Lake District, something I've wanted to do for a very long time. And she was a remarkable lady not only as a writer but a conservationist. She donated so much land of her land to the National Trust at her death. From an early tragedy in her personal life she went on to live a happy and most wonderful life.

I'm glad to hear that you love all of my favourite characters too!

I have visited the Lake District and it is incredibly beautiful

I also spoke to the shop keepers who sell the mechandise of Beatrix Potter who explained that Beatrix Potter was a pioneering business lady well ahead of her time and bequeathed all of her Land to the National Trust

Truly Spectacular

Her great legacy lives on

Hi Roukaya,

One other little gem I picked up in the National Trust gift shop is that many people in China get help in learning their English from the Beatrix Potter books.

I'm going to send that one to my daughter. She's starting a new job today and I think those words will help to say how I feel, about her. Particularly important during these difficult times.

Thanknyou Call.

Please give my very best wishes to your daughter for her new job. How daunting in current circumstances. I'm sure she'll do great! And I hope the quotation helps her to believe in herself. πŸ™
