This is a short message for those of you who have been asking about how TheDrivenSnow (Sherin) is doing.
I sent a PM and she has replied and asked me to update any of you who are wondering.
Sadly she's having a really rough time with severe pain and now low mood and is finding it hard to see the point in continuing her fight.
I've mentioned the love and concern which so many of our members have for her, and she's profoundly touched that so many people here are thinking of her.
She specifically mentioned Lynne's thread and said that if she felt up to it, she would try to add a post there over the next day or two.
Sending our collective love to you Sherin. So many of us are thinking of you and willing you to find strength to continue with your fight. 🙏

Roukaya, please read my message below. I haven't given up: I don't think I have it in me to do any such thing. But I'm certainly reflective and a little sad, certainly wondering what the point is of all this. That's just a philosophical wondering. It's me trying to work through circumstances and pain. That's all.
Great to have you back TheDrivenSnow. It's so good to see you posting again. I didn't have you down as a quitter, you are far too strong minded for that. Looking forward to seeing more of you. 😊🌼🌞

It is good that we can think about each other. I like to think that every message of support is like holding someone's hand. When I watch TV news and see hospital doctors simply squeezing a patient's hand I find a tear in my eye. The gesture is so reassuring, like saying "we are with you; we will sort it". That's what a nurse said to me once - it gave me so much comfort. This community reaches out to give that personal touch.
There was a post in recent months where a member said he/she didn't like the use of the word "battle" as in 'battle against cancer'. I had responded by saying that the use of the word was an easy way for us to picture the fight against illness. But the writer was saying that sometimes we just have to let things be, and to accept the journey. (Or something like that!)
To our friend here, I respect her words and wish her a place without pain. From my part I give her hand a squeeze.
I have sent her messages Callendersgal on a weekly basis. Its hard to talk and say things in these circumstances Only Sherin can decide things as to how she feels We can only send her Thoughts and Love as we are all doing And hope it makes her smile and feel a little better that people care Brian
Hello, I hope you can help TheDrivenSnow with her problems with regards to posting messages on Health Unlocked. She is unable to post on HU and can no longer respond to messages, She doesn't know how to resolve this issue as she is unable to send a message to a moderator to point this out to them so that corrective action can be taken. Would you be so kind and look into this for her (or maybe also Oldham65) and if you can't, maybe you'll be able to approach someone who can.
She has several private messages from virtual friends in her HU box, and while she can read them, she cannot respond to them, nor can she post on various threads that several people appear to have created for her.
She thinks that someone somewhere must have deactivated access for her, as a message appears every time she tries to reply or post, telling her that she does not have the requisite permission to perform that specific action.
I know she would be very grateful if you can help. And a big Thank You from me too on her behalf.

We forget how very much we are connected to others on this forum. We have a unique virtual space; the fact that our bonds are virtual doesn't make them any less real. I'm very grateful for your and others' support 😊
Too true I feel I've become good friends with people on here and weight loss though never met. I couldn't believe how concerned everyone was with my leg
Thanks to everyone who's posted messages of support and concern - here and elsewhere... I'm a little overwhelmed.
Trying to find ways to cope with this hand I've been dealt isn't the most straightforward thing in the world and there will be days on which it's harder than usual. I'm realising that.
But I'm trying to get to a sort of baseline wellness. That is sometimes beyond my control, though, especially when I'm dependent on things around me coming together.
Let me say, though, while I do sometimes allow myself to wonder what the point is of all this if it's ultimately going to amount to nothing, I have never just given up and I never will.
That would be entirely out of character for me!
It's more a sort of philosophical wondering. And I might need some downtime, some time away to work things out. Some me-time. That's all.
I have my boy coming to see me for a few hours in a few days and I think that will help: thanks to the virus, I haven't seen him in five months. His visit will be shorter than I would like, but circumstances dictate prudence.
So - anyway - yes, I'm very much here. Just quietly so.
Five long months, yes. I know I shall be incredibly sad when he has to leave again; that seems to mar the time I do spend with him; truly savouring the moment is something I must work on.
I'm thinking of you DrivenSnow. You've encouraged me in the past when I was in severe pain. I hope your pain get better and you continue your fight. Sending love and hugs. Xx
