Flu twice staying positive

Hi all

I'm new on this one, opened up my email and saw the invite and was like yeah that soounds good. I've had flu twice according to paramedics because of temperature, pains, cough etc....however i do get these symptoms normally bar the cough. More breathless on exertion than normal and going hot and cold, like really cold...told thats because of temperature. Wasn't well enough to be on ward in hospital a nd didnt want to go in truth be told, So didn't get fluids. Think i must have been ok enough as long as rested. Not too bad when resting, dr called next day to check and said it seems like im getting better over phone. To be honest I was scared but now relived still alive as i need to be here for my family.

The next thing after trying to look after myself to stay alive is to try and remain positive despite dbts accruing and tension. I'm doing this by staying in contact with people and just setting small more manageable tasks for myself to keep moving. Later i'm going to get my yoga mat out and do some very gentle youga. I'm part of a grooup that does a watercolour challenge a day. I've not been up to holding a brush for long enough yet, but knowing they are there waiting including my mum who sent me some of her old paint brushes and watercolours to add to my own, is inspiring.

Other ideas i have for remaining positive which i'd like to share are taking time to do some mindfulness and reflecting on something good, even if it's just one thing that has happened during your day.

Mine is having my adult children home, we dont talk much or be in the same room because of self isolating but their presence is felt and it somehow feels more like a home. Plus less worried about my daughter as she was going through a tough time living away from home in her first year of uni and of course we are saving on travel costs and i have people doing shopping for me.

oooh this positive thinking is infectious, hope you have something you feel positive about. I will be reading posts and staying in touch. I expect some of us will not be feeling up to posting or commenting and thats understandable. I made an extra effort for this one but please forgive me if i'm not as arduous in following posts.

Wishing you all well and speedy recovering.

Big thanks to the NHS, schools, delivery drivers etc you know who you are, so grateful that we as a human race are mainly benevolent and I hope to repay the kindness when I'm well. good luck well wishes alll. x

Thank you it's been a while since I've been on here, just seen your reply. I'm a lot built than I was more, just been left with severe pains, results back from a repeat test of liver enzymes when I was in hospital and they are still higher than the usual. I can't remember what they are but the Dr rang to tell me the results. ALT is 107 now which was a bit of a socket but he says nothing to be unduly worried about just Lise weight. I told him the difficulty losing weight and asked him why when I'm already following a healthy low calorie diet. He said it's because I have metabolic syndrome.

Not been given any medication for this but wondering whether to take vitamin e. I was prescribed prostate in the past but it didn't work and caused more than my normal level of pain. Also I read on a scientific site that orlistat doesn't make patient Lise weight just let's the alt reading so it looks good on paper.

When I last saw the hepatologist he said I would have to go back in a year to have the progression assessed as I have fibrosis between stage 3 and 4. I'm wondering if now the Dr just said Lise weight and not to worry if o will still be called in for a hepatologist appointment.

As for covid I'm socially distancing even though I didn't get the letter from the government. Quite enjoying less pressure in day to day life since lockdown finding plenty to do and home getting cleaner and tidier by the day. Anyone else finding something positive out of it?

Best wishes and stay safe x
