Hope you are all keeping well. Since my last post nine days ago this virus has got a lot worse here in the UK.
I have a daughter working front line at Addenbrookes, son in law a police officer, another who is a prison officer and my partner has a son working in sheltered housing, a daughter in law working at Queen Alexandra hospital, a daughter a care manager with supported living and another son working this weekend helping convert a hotel for patients with mild symptoms ready to be discharged.
so as you can see this is a very worrying time for us but we are using the following tactics to keep buoyant.
Read the news once a day, don't fixate on social media. Decide what you want to do with the day and actually do it. Make the most of this unexpected time off to keep in touch with people especially family. If you feel a bit down one day don't beat yourself up, its only to be expected. Eat sensibly, hydrate properly. Learn to bite your tongue if things get a little heated, few of us have spent so much time together. Try to keep fit either by walking or following the many fitness regimes on tv and you tube.
If you need help find out where you can get it and do not be ashamed to ask.
I hope this helps you all, prepare for the long haul and if it's any shorter then that's a bonus.
Stay safe

You have a family to be proud of Clericus. My admiration knows no bounds. My youngest daughter is a teacher, currently working with the children of front line workers. XXXX
Hang in there, Clericus... You have a great family doing their bit and one to be proud of... Putting others first is what counts. We all need to stay healthy and safe, wash our hands and be logical! I did my part and gave a donation today!
Hi Clericus, great to find this post at this time. I’m a very upbeat positive individual. However, today I find myself listless, still in bed as I write this. Haven’t eaten or drank apart from my medication- slippery Sloap I know!
Like you, my daughters are frontline nurses with young families I’m worried sick can’t focus on anything right now only “what if...”.
You diary has given me the impetus to get up and get sorted - what will be will be.
So glad I stumbled across your post today Thankyou for your positivity ❤️Maggie
Hi there, I have admiration for your family on the front line and what an excellent job they are doing to keep society functioning and hope they stay safe and well. My hat goes off to them. The advice you give is sound advice, structured and manageable for most to carry out. keep well and stay safe. xx
Yes, life can become complex for many at this time, life can be hard work is some get stuck indoors with family, so very stressful
You alone must have plenty on your plate at this time, very unsettling for you and family just the opposite for many families in lock down
Say thank you and well done for all your family members
Thank you for your post Clericus, I admire your attitude, it must be difficult with so many of your family being in harms way. I am a widow with no family here, so I am fending for myself, I am doing a good job, I do not worry, am not afraid so panic is not near me. I braved it yesterday, after 3 weeks of being in, I needed cat food and litter, I got myself ready, face mask, surgical gloves and sanitizer....Went out to my car, it would not start!!! So I put it on the trickle charger, and went and pottered in my garden. Finally got it to start, left if for 10 mins running, so re- applied my gear and left. Sorry to see only a few people wearing masks, not abiding by the 6 feet distance, some holding hands!!! I have a hard time believing the stupidity of some people. I avoided everyone I could, got my stuff and left, drove home on an almost deserted road!!! Glad to get home and back in my house.
I do not watch the news, gave that up years ago, do not get the paper, get headlines from CNN on the computer. I stay busy everyday, lots to do, see and learn. I have planted seeds on my deck and pleased to see some of them are actually up. Will go out after I finish this and clean out some more pots and see what I can plant!!!! I'll go for a walk if I feel like it, it is very rural where I live, so I can see nature at work and avoid people. I wish you and your family well. Sending love and virtual hugs.....Sprinkle 1......
