What's anyone done today

A warm welcome to our new members, this is something I started about 10 days ago, I live on my own and I just wondered what other people had been doing, please feel free to join in. So today the weather has been cold and cloudy so I've stayed in, I don't need to self isolate but I'm only going out when I need to, changed the bed and done a, pile of washing which will be ironed later in the week. As I haven't been out since Friday I'll pop out tomorrow, there's 2 chip shops close to me, one is closed and the Facebook page for the other one says they're open and taking phone orders so thought I'd go along and see if there's a notice on the door

Hello

You are keeping busy 😊

Today I, cycled, went to the shops, cooked and did a few jobs in the house.

I did this as I'm mid 70s. She is doing one every day for her grandparents. I also walked dog and did a nightmare full oven clean ( think Xmas dinner) well I managed before April!

Also tidied hall cupboard and phoned people on my elderly club members list

I have been giving my granddaughters bedroom a good clear out before my husband decorates it for when she can visit again. Have a good night and take care of yourself 😊 Bernadette xx

Spent a long time on phone with my sister. She’s going bonkers too. The president extended self distancing to April 30😭😭😟😟. Worked a little on some stuff online for my boss. May make some pudding or cookies this afternoon. A little down about the whole thing today. I am glad for this site. It always cheers me up.

Hi Jennymary,

I think it's good for a bit of normality that some local takeaways of different kinds are managing to stay open and some of the businesses near me have repurposed restaurants as takeaway service. I think it's so interesting how some businesses have stepped right up to the plate and adapted, whilst others have just caved in till it's all over. So anyway, I do hope you get your fish and chips as usual.

You seem to have had another busy day. I did touch earlier on why the start to mine was a bit frenetic, with the incident with my sister's husband. She's been in touch to say the crisis is over for now, but there will be others now I know, and I so feel for her. I wish I lived closer to help her more. No chance of even going to help her out, right now, and I so feel she needs a big hug.

I missed an online zumba class I was supposed to be part of, as a result of the incident, and also I was amazed that the engineer who does my gas safety check turned up to do it! I suppose the government is conflicted in that way. Is it better for a building of 62 families to blow up because of a faulty boiler or hob, or have a further chance of a bigger spread of coronavirus. Both are unpalatable.

Anyway, it's all settled down for me this afternoon I'm happy to say. I hope that you aren't feeling too frustrated with the lockdown today. It comes and goes with most of us, I think. But you are doing a great job of keeping busy! Take care Jennymary and stay safe!

Out for a 6 mile walk this morning and got on with some future learn and put away my washing that I did yesterday and watched some movies.

Hi Jenny

I have been scanning the internet for inspiration for my paintings. Found a photo of a lovely westie sitting on rocks so I am starting that today. I am also crocheting and knitting for the neonatal unit and also for one of my mum’s carers who is expecting her first baby.

I've been on my balcony, done some sewing on my machine, keep my hands supple so curtains are now altered and ready to go up when someone comes.

Then I a friend rang to tell me Granddaughter had been taken into hospital last night with Covid19 Virus. Shocked to the core, but remaining positive for her🙏😢.

Stay safe everyone please xxx
