Dear all,
Do you have a Magnet? Thought so.... then empty, your 'change' in a pile- the more change the better- and hold your magnet. Some, but not all, coins are Magnetic- I suspect this is, due to, the amount of Nickel in them. (Quick bit of Science, for you, Not only Iron- but also Cobalt & Nickel- are 'Magnetic' metals.)
Results, so far anyway, All my 2p coins- oldest 1997- WERE magnetic. Most, of my Pennies were- except one, from 1979. A ten pence, from 2001 wasn't- where as a 10p from 2015 was. The 20p, from 1982, and the 50p, from 2015 were not magnetic. Nor was the Pound Coin, from 2019.
This ISN'T a 'Conclusive' test, more Research is needed- This is were YOU come in Quarantined People..... Just though that I'd, put this idea, 'Out There' as it were.
Has anyone else have, any ideas, for 'Different Things', we can all try? I know there are a few Quizzes around- I will add, a few more soon.
I trust that everyone is well and 'Bearing Up' OK. Stick 'In There' Peeps..
