We have been using the video conferencing app Zoom to connect with family and friends. We are more connected now than before social distancing. Zoom is free, easy to use with computers, smart phones and iPads. On Sunday our faith community had a 60-person zoom meeting, it was a bit rough but hey we’re learning. We had frflung family together yesterday, and tonight we’ll attend a Zoom birthday for a dear friend, a grand lady who lives alone in NYC. She’s expecting 20+ or more, though of course it;s BYOB.

Technology to be grateful for😁 Reliable phones, zoom/ Skype /WhatsApp / Facetime 👍

I laughed with a neighbour earlier that years ago if someone rang your doorbell and ran away, we'd be cross😂😂 Now I can open the door and they're already back out of the way! it's good to see a real human being and chat briefly 😊

I have no family and although a regular sainsburys delivery customer I haven't had anything for weeks as impossible to get through. So chats through window or on doorstep with lots of space between us, are lovely and I appreciate every one👏👏

Daniel Dafoe's Journal of the Plague Year (1655,) expresses deep gratitude for newspapers, in the old days all they had was town crier and rumor.
