It's looking so lovely outside today. And although it was quite shocking how many people took risks yesterday in congregating outside, I know why they were driven to do it. I think it's only going to get more challenging to follow the rules, as a rain-ridden nation, desperate for some sunshine, but we must all be sensible and follow the distancing rule if we want to be able to continue to go out.
Yesterday HeronNS posted a link to a really beautiful Native American chant and rekindled my own liking for that branch of sprituality. So today, for my quotation/poem, I've chosen this
SACRED TREE OF LIFE
Sacred tree of life teach us to root ourselves and walk in balance.
Teach us to share our shelter, food, our breath.
Teach us to bend, and to have compassion and love for our brothers and sisters.
Teach us to be grateful for all gifts we receive and remind us to pray.
Teach us to stand tall and reach for grandfather sun.
Teach us to share and live as one.

Hoping you are all keeping your spirits up and staying well. Please have a great day!

I liked the chant. People who went outside and congregation are fools pure and simple they are selfish people who disregard peoples right to live. That's what I think anyway. ☺☺
I'm pleased you enjoyed it bobbybobb and yes, there has been so much selfishness displayed through panic buying and now just doing as people please instead of considering the whole community. I hope, in time, that if this crisis teaches us anything, it's that we are all part of the same pot of soup and that working together we are safer, happier and thrive. A big hope, but you never know! Have a great day!
They advise to go out for exercise or walk the dog but to stay away from people and the pictures on the news showed people just taking the advice as a joke. Of course we have all got to stay sane and walking in the fresh air getting outdoors is good for all of us as long as we follow the advice. xx
Yes Jerry. I wonder if at the end of this crisis, more of us will see the need to support others and not compete with them. Hope so anyway. Take care and have a great day.
There's always positive things that can come out of horrible ones.
Thank you Callendersgirl. I look forward to your post each day.
I was lucky enough to spend the morning gardening in the sunshine at a retreat house where I volunteer. There were 3 of us but we kept well apart, taking our own thermos for coffee break.
I have seen a brimstone and a comma butterfly today. More signs of summer on it's way.
Keep your spirits up and stay safe and we will all come out to play later this summer.

Hello Tenor,
I'm so glad you are enjoying my posts. What a beautiful morning it was for some gardening in that glorious sunshine. I'm envious! It sounds like a perfect situation with three people co-operating with each other to work but stay a proper distance apart. It's odd to think that the norm now is to sit so far apart and not to share our coffee with each other, but of course it's the safe and sensible thing now.
The butterflies are obviously emerging now to take advantage of a well managed garden and a brilliantly clear day, and it is such a positive sign that summer will soon be here again.
I always make sure that I remind myself everyday that 'this too will pass'. We must all just hold on to that. Last year's buzz word was Brexit. I couldn't foresee a day when it wouldn't be. Now it's gone and all but forgotten (for now), and the new buzzword is Coronavirus. May next year's words be peace, reconciliation and happiness.
Thanks for your encouragement and take care and stay well.
Good morning, I love this chant, thank you.
Elaine ❤️
Thank you for posting Elaine. I love it too! Trees don't topple over as often as we do, and to look at a tree and see its close association with everything in the universe, is very calming and lovely. Even in the middle of winter when branches can be bare, we know that, living within the sap continues to rise and will burst forth at the appropriate season. We can hold on to that as a metaphor for what will eventually happen during this horrible crisis. We will have grown and new shoots will spring forth and normality will one day return.
Take good care and I hope you stay well. Best wishes. 🙏

The best thing about this epidemic is that nature is blossoming, I can hear Mother Nature giving a deep sigh of relief, giving her a welcome break 🙏
