Another 'Interesting' scam!

EVERYONE PLEASE DO READ THIS! In my 'Spam' box, which I do Sometimes check, was a link to a question about whether I was still alive! Serious Stuff eh? Apparently someone, in America, had reported my death and 'They' (I can't remember quite who now) had to have my details. The 'Kind' people were going to help 'Protect ME from fraud'- all they needed was my consent to access my account!

I'll tell you what it IS a f..king good job that I have my 'Wits', about me, isn't it? Please don't fall victim, to these Scams, If Someone is genuinely worried about you they will send an official letter- not an Email!

Sorry to offer Bad News, on 'Positive Wellbeing', but if it saves 'Someone' from being Scammed......

I am sending my best wishes anyway, enjoy the weather,

AndrewT

Wow! Well, your spam box is for scan. After receiving a letter from a doctor"s office within a large hospital medical complex, to inform patients that their data had been hacked, and that my information Inc

. Social Security # was believed to have been stolen, along with many others, the hospital took steps to have anti-hacking security updated and offered a 1 year free subscription to "Identity Lock" to which I have been subscribing even after the free 1 year was over. Should your identity be stolen, they will sort it out and work with authorities to pursue those criminals.

VERY HAPPY TO KNOW YOU ARE ALIVE and WITTY☺☺

I'm glad that I'm alive too. Can you let me, indeed all of us, know more about 'Identity Lock' please? I will pass the information on to Headway, the day Centre, that I attend- along with the members of my 'Contact List'.

Kindest wishes

Dear Andrew,

You can go to lifelock.com. It explains what they do and you can chat with a live agent online. I think there are 1 or 2 other companies that do the same thing.

I have not even thought about it in so long until you brought up scamming. I guess because I feel protected; nothing bad came of that data breach in the medical complex. Once a year, they remind me to renew my subscription, the price does not go up. Also anti-virus and malware software protect us too.

Another thing to watch out for is dating websites at any age. Lonely women are particularly vulnerable; scammers from other countries use a false photo and false identity, charm these ladies with "honeyed words"; eventually a psychological attachment on the part of the woman occurs over time. They might even send the lady a little piece of jewelry in the mail.

Eventually, the man is in a jam, through no fault of his own; can she please wire money by Western Union...if she can't, he understands, and being "in love" she does. They also ask for the womans' phone number and call her to deepen the attachment further. It is what is called the long con. He is courting many ladies at the same time.

I suppose men can be victims too by cunning women as well.

Good luck.

Andrea aka Christophene47.

Thank you Andrea, I will look this up. A friend of mine and his brother, quite a few years ago now, both inherited money on the death of their Parents. My friend invested his wisely, putting some into Savings and, yes some, into his business.

The brother, on the other hand, was, Very Badly Scammed, by some African 'Love Bird'. He lost Everything, my friend even had to pay for his Return Flight.

Thank you, once again Andrea. (I have to say that I DO like Christophene, as well)
