A cat with two tails

Well I am euphoric this morning 😀. I don't want to brag, as I know some of you have real trouble with your GPs, but I had a phone call from a GP at my practice who has known me for many years in and out of the consulting room (we used to go to the same church). She fully endorses the charity and this forum and said I am in good hands. She wants me to stop the 0.5mg drop and drop 0.25mg every 3-4 weeks for the time being due to my sensitivity to medication. She has set me a goal of 2 years to be off pred or at a constant low dose. I feel so good, all the pressure is off and this will be on my records so there will be no pressure from any other doctor. I do feel like a cat with 2 tails 🐈‍⬛ which was one of my beloved Nanna's favourite Somerset sayings.

Big hugs to you all this morning. GG 🤗

It is so nice when you come across a doctor with some common sense who cares for the patient.

That's lovely, but I hope the PMR was listening to the 2-yr target! Maybe. If her magic works, I shall go and see her myself!

The magic is that she has taken all the pressure off and for that I feel better today 🙂

Same problem with GPs. Saw her on Monday last and ended up in tears of frustration. Told her "I can't talk about this anymore - to you". It was about reducing Pred to 2.0 while in so much pain (not necessarily PMR, but possibly) and I'd asked to stay at 3.5 for a couple more weeks. She referred me to a new Rheumy (who happens to be my neighbour's daughter; the only name I could think of because GP couldn't think of any). SMH. Now I wait for a call from the new Rheumy. I asked for a different one than I began with 3 years ago. Congrats to you in finding someone who will at least listen without preconceived notions. Happy for you GG.

Thank you Missus835, that is very magnanimous of you given that you are having a rough time yourself. I am sure that because the GP and I have known each other outside the patient/doctor relationship, she sees me as a person and not just another patient. She's like Marmite apparently, she suits some people and they like her, others do not 🙄
