A positive post. I am down to 2mg a day now and just wanted to share. My face looked like it had been painted onto a balloon. Almost back to normal now although my turkey neck under my chin is quite noticeable it’s a small price to pay. Onwards and upwards I feel so much more positive x

It is good to get rid of "Moonface" anyone remember The Faraway Tree by Enid Blyton, I loved it as a child......

I didn't read it as a child but it's funny you should mention it as I discovered it when looking for titles for my daughter to borrow from the library for her little girl. I ended up reading a trilogy!

Yippee - sounds great!

That’s good news. Even though our moonfaces may not be ugly in themselves, people often underestimate how depressing it is not to look like yourself

well done - that’s such positive news and encouraging for others who get very frustrated by their moon faces (mine was particularly so but back to normal now I’m on 3mg). 😊

Having once been on 4mg, a recent GCA flare has me back up at 30mg and so pred belly and moon face have returned. However the good news is from comments on how healthy I look and it's all because the facial wrinkles have been plumped out. I don't tell them about moon face!

Oh I'm so sorry you're back up to 30mg. It can happen to any of us. xx

I don't see how I can ever really be free of this PMR/GCA journey as I'm into my 5th year sadly!

Around 5 years is a common duration and people have finally got off pred even after as much as 10 years - don't give up yet!!!

Trying to stay positive thanks PMRpro. It helps reading about you and others that have been there for years longer.

It is so good that we have each other. I would have been SO confused without this platform. I'm almost at the end of 3 years and PMR & GCA are going strong. But thankfully I am reducing the Pred. Finally almost to 6mg.
