Hello, a wee while yet. It’s a gradual process and we’re all different so I don’t know for certain but people were saying mine looked less under 20mg but I couldn’t see it, though my cheeks didn’t feel as firm. Low teens saw a big improvement but for me under 10mg it became more noticeable. Below 5mg I’d say my face was near normal but it isn’t the same and I’m trying to put my finger on why. You can make a big difference by keeping salt intake ultra low and of course keeping weight down. As has been said here often, try to embrace the reduced wrinkles and perhaps change the hairstyle if it bothers you.

Actually it struck me yesterday that the few lines I did have before GCA were along the laughter lines because I spent my working days smiling. After two years they have reset into my new default expression which has obviously been frowning with a down turned mouth 😮. How sad. Some serious intervention needed methinks.

One of the things I really do concentrate on is to walk around with a smile on my face - in the UK you tend to get strange looks but here most people smile back and greet you!

I’ve noticed in my village, if I say hello and smile at people I don't know who are about under 60, they look uncomfortable. If they are over 60 they appreciate it and reply in kind.

Anyway, more smiles from now on; nature’s own face lift.

Although there are some young ones too buried in their phones to see anyone else, most littles are still taught to respond with a greeting. And late middle aged are the most miserable!

Thanks Snazzy for your quick reply. I guess l just have to live with it for a while longer. I get lots of compliments saying how well l look and it suits me. I know they are just being nice .At least l am not in a lot of pain at the moment.

Hmm I don’t know. I suspect we don’t look a million dollar up to diagnosis but then we rock up with fewer wrinkles and a rosy cheeked glow. However, the black eye circles must be a bit of a shocker, so you may be right 🙂

The short answer as we are all different it goes when it goes for you.

I was sad when mine went as all my wrinkles came back and so did the chicken neck.

No real answer - my moonface faded away together with the 35lbs of weight I lost by cutting carbs. At a pred dose for between 10 and 15mg at the time.

Some of it will probably go with lower dose but I do know a few who lost nothing of the pred-associated weight until they stopped pred altogether. Then it melted away. Others got off pred and still didn't lose it until they took active participation in the process by altering their diet.

Top Tip if having your photo taken, wear Sunglasses 😎 it hides the cheeks & small eyes obviously not ideal if your indoors mid winter but stand at the back it does help 😉

Mine didn't go until I was off pred. But now I have wrinkles instead.
