I had a steroid injection in my arthritic knee a few days ago and have felt like I've been run over by a truck ever since! As I guess I am still struggling with my adrenals coming back online, I am guessing it's just all been too much for the poor old bod? I am currently on 2mgs of pred daily. Any thoughts or has anyone had a similar experience?
Thanks in anticipation of some reassuring replies.........

It isn't something that I've ever had - just that the pain as the lignocaine in the injection wore off was really unpleasant, that sort of pain that leaves you feeling sick. But an ibuprofen sorted it out.
I’ve had those a couple of times. They did wonders for me. Last time I had the shot at least 6 months ago, knee still like new! I hope it works for you in the long run. One thing I learned is to take it really easy on the day and couple of days after the injection. Fist time I used public transport to get home and it involved standing and waiting for my train for quite a while and it did not help. Felt shattered, super fatigued after. Next time took a taxi and cancelled everything, was resting all day and took it really easy for a couple of days after - big difference!
another thing I forgot to mention - these injections can increase your blood sugar temporarily - for a day or two. I had a blood test the day following my knee injection and came out pre-diabetic. I am not. I looked it up and turned out it can happen, but then goes back to baseline, which mine did. However, if you have issues with blood sugar, it can be the culprit.
did you do absolutely nothing for 48 hours, & just rest, rest, rest? I find that that actually helps the injection do its work, but also prevents the problems you are having. I as on2mg in December when I had a triple dose depo medrone injection, & despite it being a busy time just five days before Christmas I rested!!
