GCA in Lincolnshire?

Just wondering if there is anyone out there who has GCA who lives in Lincolnshire? I was diagnosed at the end of January this year and would love to know if there is anyone else who sees a Rheumatologist in this area?

Hi Janeval. I'm in Lincolnshire but its a very big county. I'm between Lincoln and the sea. You've certainly come to the right place to get good information and advice about PMR...I mean this forum, not Lincolnshire necessarily!I hope that you have a good GP as that makes such a difference if they know something about the condition and are sympathetic.

As usual I tend to jump in without reading the question properly. No, I don't have GCA, justPMR, and I don't see a rheumatologist, so can't advise you about that, but I'm sure someone will be along to help. Just wanted to say welcome to the forum to someone else from our beautiful part of the world.

That can lead you into all sorts of trouble....😲.. My late hubby was a lecturer/instructor in the armed forces - on the top of the question paper he always wrote - RTFQ.... I'll leave you to interpret the meaning....😊

I'm also between Lincoln & the sea! Do you have GCA? I'm trying to find someone who has a Rheumatologist in Lincolnshire- not sure about mine! My GP seemed to know nothing about it & didn't even diagnose me- I refuse to see him now as he was useless tbh, but I have found another Dr in the practice now who does know about it, so quite relieved about that!

You are not far from me, I'm in Alford. I have had no experience of GCA myself. That's so good that you have found a GP who knows what you are talking about. I would take his advice ....there are very few rhumatologists in Lincolnshire apparently and a big waiting list to see them. Good luck.

Not far atall! I was only diagnosed at the end of January but it took many phone calls to the Docs (couldn't get a face to face appointment for a few weeks), then a visit to A & E -where they sent me home after 5 hours with more painkillers and eventually got an appointment at my Docs! I honestly don't have much faith in them atall & I've no idea if the Doc I've just seen is just a temporary one, but he's the firstbine I've seen who knows anything about it- fingers crossed though.
