Hello Can anyone recommend a rheumatologist based near the wirral ,Liverpool or Manchester who they feel is experienced in GC ?

Awaiting an urgent referral Can anyone recommend a rheumatologist based near the wirral ,Liverpool or Manchester who they feel is experienced in GC or anyone whose had good experiences with hospitals in this area ?

I see Dr Claire Dubois, Consultant Rheumatologist, Spire Murrayfield Hospital, Wirral for PMR and can highly recommend her.

Thank you AA. I ve actually seen her before for a back problem I had. She's very nice and very thorough . I ll definitely look into seeing here, although at the moment I don't have any joint problems but I know now that rheumatologist ls deal with GCA. Very grateful for the advice xx

You’re welcome. I don’t have any joint problems either but she sorted out my PMR symptoms and she warned me about further complications that might arise from GCA so seems knowledgeable on the subject. Hope you can get sorted out soon x

I noticed her name when I was looking - she seems to be in the Liverpool University hospitals but I'm pretty sure she mentioned PMR and GCA on her blurb.

I definitely will . I'll wait for my nhs one next week and see what they say and what they want to test for and then can follow up with Clare Dubois at Spire . Always good to find an empathetic doc x

Hi! I’m in the NW and I saw Prof Ben Parker privately at The Spire Manchester. He does specialise in GCA and he was very good.

BTW, we have a PMR/GCA support group in the North West if you are interested?
